Stunningly beautiful. Marie has her own little separate house a little distance from the palace. Louis also has a separate house but you have to buy another ticket for these locations and either walk quite a way or pay for a tram. Believe me, you want to pay for the tram - or you can rent a golf cart which costs more. Lines can get really long waiting to return to the palace from the Petite House later in the morning - we finally got in the fourth tram. Restudy a little history prior to going and the palace comes to life as you walk the halls and visit the opulently decorated rooms. This is quite a distance away from all the other tourist hot spots so you will need to take a cab or the Metro. We took the Metro while in Paris on a few occasions and had no problems. We were extremely mindful & watchful of pick pockets, so as long as you pay attention and have your cash carefully stashed away you should be fine. There is a bit of a walk from the subway station to the entrance - maybe a quarter mile or so. You can purchase your tickets across the street from the Metro station.
