After much planning, we decided to book Private Tours Paris for a day trip to Normandy since we didn't want the hassle of taking a train and other forms of transportation to visit historic D-Day sites in Normandie. Our tour guide and driver Richard, picked us up promptly at 7am in the morning. We stopped at a nice rest stop along the way for breakfast. Our tour guide shared many facts of the different sites Pont du Hoc, Omaha Beach, the American cemetery in Normandie and a beautiful town called Port en Bessin. The tour started off a bit too scripted for our liking and the lunch suggestions were initially poor since they consisted of overly tourist crammed lunch spots. The advantage of private tour is that you get a guide that is familiar with the local region and will select places to visit that are usually off the beaten path and not overly touristy. Even though we started off a bit disappointed with the tour since it felt more like a regular tour but paid twice the price, our tour guide did provide some flexibility in the end and catered to our interest. He suggested an early dinner st Port en Bessin, a quaint town and we enjoyed a fantastic dinner and a bit of souvenirs shopping around town. It was a great way to end the day after spending all morning and afternoon reflecting on the incredible sacrifice of so many men and women that fought as part of the Allied forces to liberate France. Quite an emotional day. My only suggestion to Private Tours Paris is to spend some time looking for better local restaurants for lunch options (not the spots where large tour groups go to), along with a few stops for shopping and additional unplanned stops. The only reason people choose private tours too being with despite higher cost is to avoid any stress and enjoy the flexibility of having a private driver and tour guide that will be responsive to customer needs. While we enjoyed the D-Day sites, I didn't think it surpassed our expectations as other private tours have.

We hired PrivateToursParis for a 4 day trip, and the company was excellent to work with. Responded promptly to all emails, answered all questions and we were able to plan the itinerary to fit our needs. There were four of us traveling, the Mercedes Benz van had air conditioning and was clean and comfortable. Julien was our guide and he was excellent. We were picked up from the airport in Paris and we toured the beaches in Normandy, the American cemetery, spent the night in Saint-Malo. Toured Mont Saint Michel then the Loire Valley. I would use them again.

We visited Versailles in June 2017 and chose Private Tours and when we returned this year with more family members we chose Private Tours again. We were celebrating the 82nd birthday of one of our party who has always wanted to see Versailles. We selected to do the 8 hour tour of Versailles which included the Main Palace, the gardens, the Grand Trianon, the Petite Trianon and the Queen's Hamlet. It was a fabulous birthday treat.

Francois is an amazing tour guide. So helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about Versailles. Last year I had a number of physical challenges and Francois was good enough to help with pushing me around in a wheelchair. He was so patient and kind.

This year luckily I'm able to get around by myself so we did get to go everywhere and see everything. Try and book for days when the fountains are working as it adds so much more to the experience.

The service you receive from your Private Tours guide from the pick up at your accommodation to drop off at the end of the day is simply wonderful!

We booked an 8-hour Paris Discovery tour and an 8-hour Versailles tour a few months in advance of our early June Paris vacation. They were great in answering our questions with a prompt response. We asked to have a visit to Sainte Capelle included in our Paris Discovery Tour and they were eager to accommodate our wishes.

Claudia was assigned as our guide for both tours. She called our hotel the day prior to our first tour to verify our pickup time and details. Claudia is very knowledgeable and passionate about her city. During the Paris Discovery tour we covered every corner of the city and learned the history of each area. She gave us time for photos at popular places.

The second tour with Claudia was the 8-hour Versailles tour. Having advance tickets and a guide is great for skipping to the front of the line and beating the crowds. Claudia knows her history of France very well, and she shared the knowledge with us as we toured the palace. After the palace we toured the gardens and then stopped for lunch. After lunch stops included the Estate of Trianon and Marie Antoinette's hamlet.

What a busy, fun filled two days with Claudia! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion!

Julien, our tour guide, was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and fun. Great story teller! He also gave us many great tips for the rest of our trip in France.
