Had not been here in a long time and forgot the wide range of exhibitions to look at.. this one was about the moment in time when Chagall and other politically liberal and artistically inventive went on their own to create an artists community that flouished in the first few years of the Russian revolution when an idealist could think a brave new world was about to begin.. The dissillusionment set in rather quickly but these were exciting times artistically and personally for Chagall.

The bold architecture in the centre of the market square of the former market halls is still worth a visit. The courage of the client can still be admired today. Not a building but a monument was created.

My nephew is into contemporary art, so visited the Pompidou. He loved it! It was an interesting place and was not as crowded as other sites in Paris, so we got to see a lot and really enjoy it!

The architecture alone is worth the visit. A truly unique design. The area out front is a magnet for students congregating and taking in the sun. Always cutting edge and more mainstream contemporary artists on display.

If I were a tour guide I’d put visiting the museums in this order: Louvre, Musée D’Orsay, Centre Pompidou. But if I had to choose just one I’d say go to the Pompidou. The museum hours are long and you could easily be here all day. Pick up a floor plan or you’ll find yourself revisiting galleries.
