“Oasis in Paris”

We booked quite late for accommodation in Paris and were delighted to find that My Open Paris had a new room that had just become available [The Blue Room]. This room is quite small and would not be suitable if you are thinking of spending lots of time in the apartment, but if you are mainly only using it in the evenings and for sleeping, it is perfectly adequate. Although it has a kitchen, you will not be cooking any three course dinners, it is so tiny as to be only suitable for the preparation of breakfasts and snacks. The room had an excellent new TV system with cable, including 6-7 English language channels. It also had a VOIP telephone from which it is possible to make free calls to landlines in Europe, the States and Australia etc.

The bed was comfortable, although the room seemed to stay quite warm, despite not using the heater at all.. This is exacerbated by the common practice in Europe of providing bedding consisting of a bottom sheet and a heavy duvet, meaning that it is hard to get the temperature of the bed right when sleeping [this is a criticism that could be made of the vast majority of apartments for rent across Europe].

Eanjo, the young woman who managed the apartments was truly delightful, and did everything she could to make our stay comfortable. The check-in time of 4.00pm is quite late [although it is possible to drop your luggage at the apartments much earlier], this is something that should be kept in mind when deciding what time to arrive in Paris. There are apartments that are much larger than the one we rented [and considerably more expensive of course], Eanjo showed me through two of these and they were very nice, and would definitely suit two couples traveling together.

The apartment complex, which also houses the Paris Zen Center, features a delightful small garden, constructed in the style of a contemplative Zen garden. In warm weather this would be a very pleasant place to sit and read, or simply contemplate life.

“Great Home Base for a Visit to Paris”

We stayed in a new unit they just added by splitting an apartment into two rentals. Has two rooms - one with a bed only and the other with sitting area and small kitchen stuff (kettle, microwave, utensils, plates). Also a very modern and nicely done bathroom. Good and free Wifi. We really enjoyed the unit and the property.

Great location also - no in the middle of any attractions but a good base in a regular neighborhood with great access to buses, trains and the Metro. About a 15-20 min walk to Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame). Great also to have the Air France bus from CDG stop 2 blocks away. No a lot but some good restaurants nearby. Great bakeries (try Blu Sucre)! Very close to an elevated train line that has been converted to a pedestrian walkway (similar to NYC's High Line but better done). Great place for a run to avoid the city streets (~ 4-5 km long). Not far from a great open air market next to the Bastille, Sunday and I think on Thursday.

Great price for Paris - about half of many hotels. Maybe most importantly, my wife approved!

My Open Paris was incredible for our recent stay in Paris.
I traveled with my Boyfriend and we got a real taste of Paris.
Close to the Metro, shops and wonderful coffee shops...
Clean, comfortable and cosy...
I cant rate my stay highly enough.
Owners are wonderful people who are always willing to help.
I would go back in a heartbeat!!!

THANK YOU!

“The best choice”

Our group of 6 changed reservations from a hotel to MOP and can't be more pleased. The ambiance was perfect. Having a small kitchen with refrigerator was convient. Location close to metro was great. The proprietor was charming, helpful and available. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was American motel sized. We packed our own coffee so could brew, MOP had instant, sugar & tea.
The rooms are on the third floor and no elevator. The stairway is generous but could be a mobility challenge. We will stay here again.
