We were waiting at the mall for a long time, more than 25 extra minutes. After doing the cue, they told to a group that have just arrivet, to enter first to the boat, and the others wating for them. The food, a piece of foie gras with mermelade, and rice with chicken, horrible. A small wine bottle, 19€. Very cold with the air conditioning, and the glasses and mirrors dirty. I don't recommend this to anyone.
Boat arrived on 21:50 even we wait as request 30 minutes before 21:45 ,Boarding time. Boarding took 35 minutes. Boat inside hot an no air condition. We found warm water and champagne on our table. At 22:30 boat departs. No ice till now.
We booked this river cruise mainly because they advertised such varied menu and the reviews on here. We were really looking forward to eating orthentic French food. We arrived early for our 9.45pm cruise. By the time they had emptied the last people from the previous cruise off it was past 10pm. We boarded the boat and we're checked in . No body at this stage had said hello or welcomed us in any way no even a smile. We were ushered to our table. Still no smile or eye contact. The 1/2 bottle of wine was delivered to our table and just plonked in front of us. Still no talking smiling or even currtosy from the staff. We thought the waitress would ask which starter we would like but no the pate de froigrois was just placed in front of us. Still no communication from the waitress. Just a surly grimace. We ate the starter which to be fair was ok. The waitress came to clear te starters away and this time she spoke, "move them" she said meaning the knife and fork off the starter plate. Everdently we had to reuse them for our main course. The waiter came and we were given a choice of salmon or chicken. We decided the chicken option. It came with a balsamic ju on a bed of what l thought was sweet corn but my wife said was rice. Again ok. Then the pudding mouse with a tiny piece of chocolate fudge. No option given again. Still no warmth or friendly Ness from the crew. We sailed up the river and back again without a word from any of the crew only surliness and looks of contempt. There was no information given about where we were or what we were passing on the river banks. Even when we got to the Eiffell tower nobody told us we were approaching it. A photogrepher took some pictures of my wife and l at our table and returned with the print. No cost was given at anytime until she told us it 15€ each print or all 4 for 50€ although they were nice pictures we declined at that cost and took some selfies. I am not tight but they seemed extortionate at that price. We docked and alighted. No member of the crew had asked us if we required any thing whilst on the boat or given us any information about the river or the sights along it.
The river by night is fantastic especially seeing the dancing and young people gathering and of course the tower by night is awesome but l would advise a different operator and boat. Sorry to be negative but this is how it was.l am normally a very positive person who do sent like gripe.
We had a lovely evening on this river cruise. It was well-organised and good value for money. The sights are beautiful and after dinner you can go out on to the deck. Dinner wasn't gourmet food but we didn't expect it to be because of the number of people they have to serve at one time with a short turnaround. It was really good value too. Would definitely recommend.
Thanks so much for your return. We are really happy you enjoyed our dinner-cruise. We do our best to propose the best prices for dinner-cruises on the Seine River; so glad you point out the "good value for money".
On the last evening of a tour from Venice to Paris with 46 teenagers and their chaperons, we booked a dinner cruise on the Paris-en-Scene.
It was the best thing we could have done. The voyage was peaceful and stunning and the food very good.
The experience was just absolutely awesome... floating past the landmarks the kids fell in love with while in the City of Light.
What a way to say "Au revoir, Paris, until we meet again"..
Thanks so much for your visit. We are so happy you enjoyed your dinner-cruise aboard Paris en Scène. Hopefully your kids, who fell in love with Paris, will bring their future children on the boat as well. We are looking forward to it ;)
For the record, we did not eat the food or even board the boat so can't speak to those things but would not recommend going with another operator. The Seine was too choppy to board at their usual Quai (by Notre Dame) but were never received the email from Paris en Scene with the new boarding information so our group of seven and about 25 other people sat at the wrong spot for over two hours waiting for the boat only to find out we were in the wrong location after calling. They held the boat but since the new boarding location was not close (Eiffel Tower) it took us a while to get a taxi to over there. Once we got there we decided not to board and told the captain at the dock who wasn't friendly at all. We got a refund but missed out on our boat tour on the Seine.
really sorry about the frustration. We sincerely appologize for this. We guess that it was at the time of the Seine brutal flooding when we had to cancel the cruises at the last moment. We then do our best to reach the clients either directly with emails, sms or over the phone, or through the agency which organized the booking. We understand in your case you had booked through an agency and not directly, which in this case of late cancellation (for unexpected and unpredictable event) can delay te communication. so sorry again
