Owner description: This elegant neighborhood is best known for its two famous landmarks, the Arc de Triomphe and the Avenue des Champs-Elysées.

It will be extremely crowded here and I recommend you be very careful with your wallets here. I felt two hands go near my back pockets. The Champs & Arc were wonderful and exciting but the thrill is somewhat lessened when you have to be on constant guard. I advise take just some cash and leave your credit cards and passport in your hotel room’s safe.

The 8th Arrondissement or district is most famous for its elegance and landmarks. The Arc de Triomphe is located here and is a must visit. Visit inside the Arc and walk up to the viewing area for great views down the Champs Elysees.

our hotel was in the 8th arrondissement and it is a quite nice area with hotells, boulangeries, bars and galleries. Felt fairly safe walking around. The Metro station Philippe de Roule is on Avenue Roosevelt. From there it is 10 minutes to Champs Elysees near the Grand Palais, so very central,

The 8th is where you will experience the Arc de Triomphe and the walk down the Champs Elysees. it is also one of the busiest with offices and residential buildings abound. There are a few museums like the Grand Palais and it also is the arrondisement where the Elysee Palace resides (The French White House).

Will you visit here on your trip to Paris? Most likely. Will you spend a lot of time here, hopefully not.

The 8th arrondisement is a popular zone in Paris. It starts from the Place de Concorde, encompasses all of Champs Elysees up to Arc de Triomphe. To the north up to St. Augustine Church. Certainly you will be in this area a number of times.
