One of the best districts in Paris! Place de la Concorde, Oranjerie Museum, Ave Champs de Elysee starts here too. This area is always packed with tourists

Some complain that the 8th Arrondissement including Champs-Elysees has lost some of its charm with the influx of chain stores and restaurants. It's just to agree.

This arrondissement will certainly keep you busy and is probably worth visiting both in the day and night. If you can't do both, I would recommend at night with all the lights everywhere it is truly magical.

Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysee, Winston Churchill statue, Xmas markets, Place de la Concorde (see pics) are notably famous, but there's a few interesting unknown sites such as Eglise de la Madeleine (see pic) - a huge Roman church, the giant red stilletto (see pic) at Village Royale designer shopping and the glorious hotel on the outskirts of de la Concorde (see pic).

We have visited Paris quite a few times but it is so iconic to stroll from the Arc de Triomphe down the Champs Elysee to Place de la Concorde passing the Grand Palais and Petit Palais on the way.
Visit La Madeleine and St Augustine and the lovely Parc Monceau.

The 8 eme arrondissement is the busy centre of Paris with lots of famous places and activities, probably the most iconic is the Champs Elysee and the Arch de triumph. I have stayed at the 8 th arr near Madeleine and use to go shopping at Lafayette and Printemps by walking 2-3 minutes. The area is safe with all the convenience within walking distance like the post office at rue Tronchet to the lovely cafes and restaurants near the Madeleine church. By walking around 10 minutes you could be enjoying the Seine river . Overall highly recommended
