We stayed in the apartment for ten days in July 2011.
First, the location. Nestled on a really quiet street two blocks from the Pantheon and Rue Mouffetard, this apartment is in a great neighbourhood. On the top of the hill that was the high-class part of Roman Paris, and remains the core of academic institutions, it is a walk to the Metro- either west or east about 10 minutes. Five stars for location.
Now, the apartment itself. It is small. There is a double futon (limited comfort) on a platform about 2 m up a steep ladder (see photo). The ceiling is very close; don't sit up too fast. The bathroom (shower and toilet) are under the platform. The kitchen space was laid out as visible in the photo (not the same in the official photos). All is quite compact. It was possible to make breakfast, and some simple lunches. The table had space for two bowls, or one laptop, but not both at same time. It is Paris, so you want to go sample the amazing offerings in the neighbourhood. Wireless internet was strong, and easy to use. One real problem was the lack of storage. The owner is storing winter bedding in the only armoire, and there was only hanging space for one item. We had to use the floor space for suitcases, which reduced the utility of the little space available. I would recommend this location for the great access to Paris, and suggest that agile people with small backpacks should rent it. The procedures to rent this are similar to other Paris rental services, there is a lot of paperwork, and a number of steps and payments. It is not as simple as a hotel. You must arrive with a lot of cash (euros) for the full payment. The owner was present to check us in, at the time agreed, but nobody arrived for checkout, we just left the keys.
