We loved this apartment. Elise (who is lovely) met us to show us around. You enter a large red door from the street that opens into a private courtyard and you immediately feel you are in a safe place. We actually didn't feel unsafe in Paris at all but it was nice to know our six year old couldn't go running out onto a busy street.
The apartment is not large (nothing is large in Paris) but it uses all space really well and our family of five fitted comfortably. It is really well appointed and feels like a home (which is what it is), not just a rental. The beds were great and the apartment just has a great feel. If I lived in Paris, this would be the sort of home we would choose.
The area is beautiful with many great shops, restaurants and close to the subway (which we used regularly to get around). We walked to the Louvre from the apartment, which was a casual, easy walk (took about 30 minutes with a 6 year old).
We will be back for sure and will definitely stay here again. Forget hotels and cheaply fitted-out rentals. Stay in a loved and cared for home.
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful historic apartment in Le Marias. The apartment is spacious, charming, comfortable, beautifully appointed, and clean. We loved the old wooden beams and large windows. It has all the amenities, including a dishwasher, and a clothes washer, and dryer. It is in the perfect location, walkable to many sights, and close to restaurants, boulangeries, patisseries, supermarkets, and shops. Elise, our host, was so helpful. Thank you Elise! We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Paris and look forward to our next visit.
Despite the recent events, few cities inspire connection like Paris, and what we love most to return to visit Paris was about the city its iconic architecture . This is the first tiimes we stayed in an 17 century apartment in Republique,, which has a lot original features which is nicely decorated. We have 2 couples and plus a teenager daughter for 3 days stay (Sunday to Tuesday) ,The surrounding is very pleasant and quiet, but at the same time, very close to Metro and with a lot interesting French designer shops and restaurants nearby, The owner Elsie was very helpful , has provided us with a lot of information and allowed us to check out late. The nearby market is must to visit for local produce for cooking. The market also served lovely seafood during the day. We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommended this apartment to anyone. No problem to receive the returned deposit after the trip.
Large open windows open out to a lovely courtyard of this 17th century refurbished charming and comfortable home with wood beams ceilings and fire stove. Comfortable large beds, with fresh smelling linens. Occasionally, a breeze from the open windows bring a lite scent of flowers from the perfume shop just below. Many steps add to the charm of this two level home.
Quaint neighborhood, with shops, bakeries, markets, coffee houses and restaurants within 15 minutes walk. Elise is helpful and sees to every detail for your perfect Paris visit.
We really had a great time staying at this location. There were many cafes and little boutique shops.
