We booked this hotel for one night on our return journey from Corsica, what a great find, we arrived Saturday at two (2) and where allowed to book into two really nice clean rooms, very modern, great shower, really good bed. As we where leaving the next morning at 6.00AM we asked if breakfast would be available and where reliably informed that if we spoke with the reception later in the day we could book an express breakfast for 4 euros per head, great price very simple breakfast which got us on the plane, we where also advised to demand the Terrance for breakfast which is normally reserved for main breakfast, however, the views from the terrace are superb, thank you so much you made our last day in Corsica very pleaseant. Also for info the Pizza restaurant next door make great pizzas and the house Rosia is excellent, very inexpensive, very Corsican

Room tip: rooms at the front are over looking the marina, the rooms to the rear are very quiet at night

Stayed here for four nights in February. This is a modern hotel located just north of the city centre across from the ferry port. All staff we encountered from check-in to check-out were very friendly. Room was a good size with modern furnishings, large shower, excellent wifi connection also kettle in room for tea/ coffee. Marina with bars and restaurants across the road, old port a 15 - 20 minute walk away with the train station roughly 15 minutes. Can't comment about the breakfast as we ate elsewhere. We would stay here again if ever in Bastia. Great hotel at a reasonable price!

We were passing through, arriving on an evening ferry, renting a car and heading to Bonifacio the next day, and departing on an early-morning ferry several days later. We booked the Hotel Port Toga for both arrival and departure stays and were glad we did. The hotel is across the street from the ferry terminal and a short walk to rental car pickup in town and to restaurants in the old town. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, with the rooms modern, quiet, and restful. We will definitely return the next time we're in northern Corsica.

By and large it's all been said before. A recently upgraded hotel with smart modern rooms and extremely convenient for the ferry port. Very friendly helpful staff with excellent English language skills. The bed good and the climate control in the room worked perfectly. What can I add?
There is street parking outside but on the Saturday evening when we stayed, there were absolutely no spaces available and we were pleased to be able to use the hotel car park. The access to the car park is indeed very restricted. You would need to be a very confident driver not to need help negotiating the entrance in even a modest family saloon. Not only is the doorway on a bend one immediately descends an extremely steep gradient which requires pretty competent clutch control on exiting. We drove a Peugeot 208 and it was really very tight. The hotel staff are very aware of these limitations, they may well email prior to your visit asking if you would like a car park space reserved but I imagine they would be very understanding if you changed your mind on arrival. Having made all these observations we were glad of the car park and a convenient lift takes you straight up to reception, or indeed your room.
Bastia is a charming city and well worth a day or two. Many arrive at the port and progress straight on into the island which is a pity. If you can afford the time in Bastia Hotel Port Toga is a good choice.
It is not inconvenient for the airport, although 16k distant the road is good and the drive is smooth, taking less than 20 minutes. You pass a petrol station perhaps 100m from the hotel so you can fill up your petrol tank to satisfy any car rental company and with sensible driving the petrol gauge will still be registering 'full' on arrival.
One small point. We asked for an early morning wake up call. A light on the phone flashed but it didn't ring out. Best to check this if you need that service.

Room tip: Port views are ttractive

Hotel Port Toga is a very pleasant hotel with modern fittings and décor (almost Scandinavian). The reception staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. We had a family room with balcony which was very spacious with separate toilet and separate bathroom with walk-in shower. The bed was comfy and the WiFi, air-conditioning and TV worked well. It is an easy walk from the ferry terminal. A good pizza restaurant is right next door or you can get a light breakfast/lunch at the nearby cafes. There are nice restaurants near the new marina (we had good seafood at "Le Bounty"). While the hotel is on the wrong side of the city for the old port it is only a 30 minute stroll away through interesting streets. The hotel also has a roof terrace where you can take your drinks to see the sunset. Finally, the hotel was surprisingly quiet with only muted traffic noise despite the busy road out front.
