“Perfect stay, Highly recommended”
Reviewed 21 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We had a wonderful time in Beaune, feeling completely at home in this beautiful sun drenched apartment. Everything is catered for, perfect location, good kitchen and qualilty kitchenware, fast internet connection and a laptop for use in the apartment, comfy couch and lots of information on the town available both from guides and from the Roses themselves. Even though Graeme, the owner, lives in Australia he was extremely helpful and communicative and there is a local english speaking apartment manager in case of any problrms. Overall the best holiday letting I've experienced

“Great Apartment! Great Location!”

We have just spent the most wonderful 5 days at the L'Appartment Rose. This apartment exceeded our expectations. It had everything we could possibly need - warm, cosy, light and very well -equipped, making it so comfortable for our stay.

The ease of booking the apartment including Graeme's responsiveness, and the clear detailed instructions about the apartment amenities, key access etc made the whole experience stress free.

The location of the apartment in the centre of the old town has also been wonderful. A great choice of restaurants/bars, boulangeries, epiciers, boutiques and of course the many marchands de vin. It was also a convenient base for winery tours to the famous Burgundy vineyards of Nuits-St-Georges, in the north and those of Pommard, Meursault and Montrachet in the sourth. Both tours were extremely interesting and informative as our guide had previously worked with her father on the family vineyard in the area and she also studied viticulture at the local wine college.
Another highlight for us was the visit to the Hotel de Dieu. We found this to be one of the best and most interesting and unique museum tours we have experienced. The audio guide from the first person perspective of the founder Nicholas Rolin and his wife Guigone made the tour experience very personal and real. The close links between the Hotel de Dieu and the Beaune region vineyards both in the past through to present day show what a visionary this man was to have set up this benevolent enterprise so it has been self funding from its beginning in 1443 through to present day.

We took Graeme' recommendation and had lunch at the cafe L'Abattoir and we were not disappointed. We were amazed at the exceptional value of this restaurant. We went for lunch and it was almost full with mainly the local workers which is always a good sign. The menu is set and there is no choice but what they offer is huge so if you don't fancy one course you can miss that but make up for it with what follows. There are five generous courses ( bottle of house wine, two entrees, main course, cheese selection, dessert and coffee) all for the price of around $18 per head. The food is simple but good home cooked fare- wonderful on a cold winters day.

Thanks Graeme and Judy for sharing your delightful apartment and beautiful town with us.

“Flawless stay - spacious, modern, tasteful decor and very clean.”
Reviewed 18 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Delicately situated in the midst of old Beaune, the modern comfort of this apartment juxtaposes the local medieval aesthetic to perfection. We found it a spacious and stylish retreat that came well appointed with high quality appliances and furnishings. It was also very clean when we arrived. The weather was quite bad during our stay and so we spent a lot of time just relaxing in the apartment, cooking and watching films. For this purpose it was ideal, being very quiet on the top floor, warming up nicely and yet also very close to the shops and eateries when we felt like venturing out. In a different season though I can see it would clearly be equally adept as a base of operations for a cycling holiday.

The owner was very helpful and friendly throughout the booking process and provided easy to follow instructions for finding the property and using all the appliances. If I was to return to this region again I would book this place up straight away because it delivers all the essentials with that rare extra touch of class on top.

“Modern and cosy apartment in centre of Beaune”
Reviewed 17 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

Our family spent four lovely days at the apartment Rose and we have enjoyed it very much. The location is really ideal as it is a stone throw away from restaurants, wine cellars and a short walk to the Hospice. There is free parking available in the area too. We found the apartment facilities clean and modern. There is even a wine fridge to keep your lovely wine properly chilled for evening `degustation' !!
The access to the apartment is somewhat unique (old spiral stone staircase) and it can be a bit tricky if you have a pushchair.
The landlord was really friendly and helpful, he even phoned us to ensure that everything was ok once we had arrived, which we really appreciated.

We would definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family.

“Wonderfully comfortable apartment right in the center of Beaune”
Reviewed 4 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We could not be happier with this rental. We spent Thanksgiving weekend with friends in the area and found this apartment to be both homey and well-situated. The owners are wonderfully friendly and helpful.

Highly recommended for families and couples.
