“Peaceful, tranquil and relaxing with wonderful pool and views”
Reviewed 14 October 2011 for a stay in October 2011

Warm and welcoming hosts, who make it their business to ensure you get the best out of your stay.

Lovely quiet Gite with stunning views, tastefully and thoughtfully renovated typical French farmhouse, with all the little touches to make your stay comfortable.

A car is a must but would highly recommend taking the dinner option on the first night it's delicious! There is also a welcome pack with breakfast essentials so we didn't need to worry about the first day.

We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed lazing by the pool with trips to the local towns and trying out some of the local recommended restaurants.

Ideally situated for the Pyrenees - walking, skiing or cycling (the national pastime!) Not far from one of the Tour de France stages (Make sure you're really really fit if you try this!!)

“A lovely place to get away from it all, in stunning countryside”
Reviewed 28 June 2011 for a stay in June 2011

Myself & my husband spent a great week here just last week. We flew from Dublin to Biarritz, the drive which just under 1.5 hrs to reach to the property. The house & area is even more idyllic than in the pictures, the surrounding countryside is truly beautiful. We wanted a relaxing getaway and got just that, it was so peaceful & quiet. The house is attached to the owners but everything is quite separate and private, and as the property is quite rural we were happy just to know they were there. The house itself is very well equipped and pool area is great, which we had to ourselves pretty much all of the time. There is plenty to do in the area, such as walking, sightseeing, rafting, golf etc. The owners provide a detailed list of amenities. A car is essential. The nearest town, Monein, is a 5 min drive, is very pretty and has everything from banks, shops & a couple of restaurants. This was our first visit to this area and the food & wine is great, and good value. We visted a midsummer music festival in Pau (c30 mins drive), another lovely town. Last but not least, the owner Gillian is a wonderful cook and can cater meals for guests at the house in a really interesting old dining room, or outside if the weather allows - we had a great meal on our last night with local wines etc and no worries with driving anywhere afterwards - highly recommended!! A great rural escape and we hope to return someday.
