This is a perfect place to stay to experience the Perigord. It's right in the middle of the area, so it's easy to do day trips all around. Yet it sits far enough back from the road to feel very private. The house is one of the lovely typical stone houses, divided into two gites, with modern conveniences. It's fully equipped with everything you need for cooking, laundry, and of course getting a good night's sleep. It was very clean and the owners are very accommodating -- including a massive book full of brochures for the region and tips. Highly recommended!

Lovely gite in the perfect location!
Clean (very!) and comfortable, this gite is unbelievably well equipped and it is in the most amazing location, just on the edge of Les Eyzies where you'll find all the caves, the bastide towns, amazing views, rivers and cliffs. It has a lovely pool too! I'm always sceptical when I read reviews but, trust me, this is a lovely pace to stay.

Highly Recommended - Perfect Family holiday
Just returned from a very relaxing two weeks at La Maison a Cote in Lez Elzies. Accommodation is excellent and very well planned and decorated and everything you could want/need is provided. The swimming pool was an absolute delight to have on hot sunny days. Ideally located to walk into the town (5 minutes) where there is a multitude of delightful restaurants to choose from. Supermarket is literally a few yards away from the property and very handy for those barbecue essentials. Canoeing is an absolute must during your vacation. Would highly recommend to anyone who wishes to experience a very relaxing, French way of life. The owners were extremely helpful and on-hand for any queries / recommendations.

La Maison a Cote
A lovely little cottage perfectly located for walking into beautiful L'Eyzies. It's tastefully decorated and furnished as well as colour co-ordinated in cheerful greens and reds. Karen and Rob keep it Immaculately clean and equipped with absolutely everything a family might need. No need to rush to the supermarket for washing up liquid, bin bags or toilet rolls...they're all there in abundance together with a welcoming bottle of wine. Great pool too!

Great place to relax
We really enjoyed our stay in this holiday home. It it well positioned close to the village so you can walk in - but far enough way to a bit if a respite. The weather was lovely especially when we first arrived and we even swam one day. The pool is nicely presented and would be a god send on a holiday any earlier in the year. Karen is always available if you have a question and the place is brilliantly equipped. We would happily return or recommend to friends. The one thing we missed was WIFI access. We had a sim for our iPad but Orange reception is not 3 G at the cottage so Internet was a little patchy. But that's not a significant reason in our view.

About the neighbourhood
Les Eyzies lies in the heart of the stunning Vezere valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty, referred to as the centre of European pre-history, its many caves and archaeological treasures pay testament to the original
inhabitants known as cro-magnon man who occupied the many caves which punctuate the dramatic limestone cliffs some15,000 to 25,000 years ago. Justifiably it is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Apart from its immense sense of history, the town has so much else to offer. The relaxed Monday market, The many restaurants, the pavement cafes, canoe hire to paddle down the Vezere river, fishing; the list is long.
Geographically, Les Eyzies is perfectly situated to visit the world famous attractions of this, the most beautiful part of the Dordogne.
