“Just the most stylish, comfortable & enchanting holiday home!”
Reviewed 16 July 2011 for a stay in July 2011

This was our second holiday at Regal. Last year we stayed in the gite(which was very special) but when we were offered the opportunity to book the Manoir we jumped at the chance as we have a large extended family & the extra space would better suit our needs. The Manior is very comfortable & stylish, spacious rooms with quality furniture & decoration. The owners Chris & Jacky are extremely good hosts, cheerful & helpful. Young and old alike can enjoy a superbly kept salt water swimming pool with not a red eye to be seen. No chance of child boredom here with so many farm animals (pigs, horses, cattle and chickens) close at hand. Local markets are close by with a host of varied attractions elsewhere including river expeditions, lovely formal gardens, caves and wine tasting and visits to the historic towns of Sarlat and Bergerac. All in all, a really great holiday location with something for everyone.

“Rural idyll with farmyard animals”
Reviewed 6 July 2011 for a stay in June 2011

You may think you have been to a beautiful destination but visit Le Rigal and see a true rural idyll. Whether you stay in the gite or the manoir you will be pleased with the standard of the accommodation. The gite may look small but is huge inside. The location is peaceful, with lovely views across the fields and birds you do not see in England. I saw a Hoopoe. Chris and Jacky are the owners and are the most helpful, friendly, welcoming and informative hosts. If you have children they may like to help feed the animals - pigs, guinea pigs, chickens, doves, quails, rabbits and horses, oh and Misty the Border collie who just loves a pat. There are many places of interest to visit close by, with lots of markets where the locals buy their fruit and vegetables, freshly picked that morning, but also stalls with many trinkets and curios. There are vineyards and chateaux and caves and all sorts of cafes and restaurants to sit and watch the world go by. If you like golf there is a good 9 hole course close by, with lots of ponds to test your skills.

“Wonderful Winter Retreat - Exactly what we wanted.”
Reviewed 26 June 2011 for a stay in December 2010

We were very lucky as we were the only guests throughout the whole week. We arrived to a fully decorated gite - Christmas decorations looked wonderful. Lots of logs for the fire for those wintery nights.

The gite is fantastic in many ways. It is clean, very well equipped and set in a wonderful location - surrounded by hills and woods with the local village in sight.

The owners made sure that we had everything that we needed and at the same time, respected our need to have some privacy.

It was wonderful and just what we wanted.
