We loved everything about staying here, the house is beautiful from the street and this is what attracted us to it. Inside we were not disappointed either, the owners have thought of everything, right down to a complimentary laptop to check your emails or news from home. The bedrooms are comfy and the lounge/kitchen/dining is open plan and because it's on street level you feel like you're part of village day to day life. The house is located up the hill from the main street of Cenac and has magnificent views to the other side of the valley and down towards the Dordogne River. We spent most evenings having a wine on the terrace watching the sunset and the hot air balloons floating above the chimneys. Luckily for us, we arrived the day of the Cenac Grand Fete, what a blast, we spent all day eating local dishes and trying home brewed beers and wines! Cenac is a perfect place from which to explore the Dordogne Region, make sure you hire a car. This house has a large garage underneath, we even got our Citroen Grand Picasso in it!

Sorry to hear of the noise was so bad, we are taking measures to improve the sound proofing downstairs, by double glazing the door way where the sound gets in. If you close the shutters at night, it makes for more soundproofing and keeps the morning sun from coming in and heating the house to early. The insulation down stairs is being fixed in the next maintenance trip. The workers use the back road down from Domme in the late afternoon, the noise usually passes quickly. Again so sorry about the noise Regards Graeme & Lisa
