Our second visit here and I accused it of "losing its soul" to commercialism. Bit harsh, although it still caters largely for tourists.
So, simple, unpretentious food not spectacular but well prepared and very tasty. My foie gras was much better than the normal fare and although all the mains had the same potatoes and little veg. both my cod and my wife's hake were delicious. Service was friendly and efficient.
The French would say that our desserts were "industriel" i.e. not prepared on site, but overall we really enjoyed our meals and that, in the end, is the test of any review.

Came to Biarritz for the day on the bus, it was a cold and rainy day, we viewed the market and walked along the seafront. The weather got a little better and it was approaching lunch time. I had read about LTB on here. The internet signal was awful so couldn't pick it up to get the address. After heated discussion we eventually found it. They stop serving at 13:30 and it was approaching 13:15. we were given a table and were expecting to be rushed, not a bit though. We shared a seafood salad, huge portion. veal stew and grilled lamb were for mains. The lamb was fabulous, the veal a little under seasoned

Went for a typical basque meal.
Selected the 3 serving menu for 24 euro. The fois gras with Jurançon is a must. Very fresh and good fish. Good selection of deserts including the cheese plate.

Taverna style restaurant, with a limited menu of Basque specialities. We both chose the charcuterie starter - LOADS of meat on this! Then I had lamb and my husband chose the black pudding, both served with fried potatoes and both really tasty. The atmosphere was very warm, staff were friendly, and it was really busy even on a weeknight, mostly with French people, which is an indicator that its pretty good. We were glad to have chosen to eat here.

Delighted we chose this restaurant. Very warm welcome. Fixed price menu at €23, two specials including steak with €5 supplement. Had the Foie Gras starter, steak & lamb. All very good. Nice wine and a Basque beer to go with the meal.
