Our first visit to Bordeaux and not our last, we found the apartment to be very stylish and welcoming, ideally located near to the bustling centre and only a short walk to the tram way and bus stops. Overall we found the apartment clean and comfortable and will return in the near future.
Great apartment for us (couple). Living area, excellent equipped kitchen with a washing machine, seating at breakfast bench and also a small table you can use for 4 people if needed. Separate bedroom and bathroom.
Great location close to town centre (5-10min walk). Underground parking was also arranged nearby (about a 3 min walk). Good patisserie and small supermarket around the corner. We also found a fantastic gourmet deli/catering shop down near Grand Hommes and brought back a lovely dinner for two one night. Brilliant to just chill out with some vino. Also had friends join us in Bordeaux for weekend and found excellent take out from nearby Italian restaurant (Sat night and most restaurants were booked by the time we got back into town and realised we were hungry) so being able to seat 4 persons at table in kitchen was great. Restaurant was Pepone (not only pizza) but take out section was around off back street behind main restaurant.
Felt safe in the area and building. Apartment of first floor. There is a reminder to all residents in the block to keep the door to the street closed properly at all times as is the case with all apartment buildings in any city.
Meet and greet with Gilles was also excellent. He speaks very good English and was most helpful getting us sorted with facilities, what was around, parking, maps etc.
Wish we had longer but hoping to get back one day. No hesitation in recommending this property.
First off, I would like to 'Thank' Philippe and Veronique for their flexibility/kindness and helpfulness when our plans changed. Their apartment is overall clean and the location is very convenient. However, the 3 Stars they have received in France is more comparable to a 2-2.5 Star U.S.A. rating (they are not a Double Tree or Hilton 3 Star rating--sorry). The kitchen is very useful. The place has been remodeled, but not fully and not recently. One of the issues is that there is too much STUFF in the small roughly 500 SF place (baby chairs, strollers, cleaning supplies, etc.). If would be much nicer if the excess stuff were stored somewhere else. Also, a big concern is the bath tub. If you are older or have some mobility issues, it may be difficult to safely get in/out of the tub. There is NO air conditioning so this might be an issue on warmer/humid days. There is some road noise also (single pane windows). Some non-disclosures: we were not informed that a 'security deposit' was going to be placed 'pending' on our credit card nor were we informed that we would have to pay 'taxes' which was about 2.7 Euro per day...And there may be some communication problems possible too.
Otherwise, the city is great and the owners mean well and try to be helpful, if needed. Thank you, Phillip!!
My wife & i spent a long weekend at this apartment & everything was excellent. Location, layout & facilities all superb.
This apartment ticks all the boxes. The location is perfect, easy walking around town and to river. The tourism office is only a few blocks away, and grocery store is just around the corner.
The apartment itself is clean and comfortable. It's bright with lots of natural light. And it's got everything needed for a holiday rental.
Not only would we recommend it, we would stay here again.
