I've been to Hotel Beaucour at least five times over the last 10 years. It's been constantly "downgraded" in the ranking and after this year I don't really wonder why. They are rated a four star hotel but the heating didn't work. Obviously we weren't the first to experience that because the hotel offered us a small radiator within minutes - and that was that. They didn't care afterwards. They constantly save on the breakfastbuffet. Every time I'm visiting there's less. Now they've also switched to papercups for the coffeemaking facilities in the rooms. No, they are certainly not a four star standard!

This hotel is easily accessible by the tram, which was great for us since we arrived by train from Germany. It's right near the heart of the city so we were able to walk everywhere once we were settled into our room. There are cafes, restaurants, and even a small grocery store right near the hotel, and even more if you want to walk a couple of blocks.

Our room was very spacious - basically a suite, so that was nice. There was free wifi in the hotel, but unfortunately it wasn't very strong. We literally had to open our windows to the courtyard and hold the phone or tablet outside to get any signal at all (and even then, maybe one or two bars). There also wasn't a proper shower - there was a handheld shower thing but no shower curtain/buffer/anything that would prevent a huge puddle of water on the bathroom floor anytime we showered, no matter how careful we tried to be. Also, to conserve energy the hallway lights are motion-activated. However, there are several areas where there's an extra step or two that you can't see until AFTER the lights turn on, so it was slightly creepy and we had to be careful not to walk too quickly.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the exterior of the hotel was beautiful.

Really great location, just 2 minutes to the Cathedral after you cross the bridge. Parking could be though but it’s not as there is a garage just next door, but obviously not for free.
Hotel has a nice terace in case of good weather you can sit outside. 24 hour reception, helpfull staff. Clean and decent rooms with flat TV, mini bar. WiFi is free but bit week.
Breakfast is not included inthe price, extra 13,5€. Traditional swedish, with few hot options along with fruits, cereals cheese, sausage.
Quiet well located Hotel, we enjoyed the stay.

We recently stayed in Strasbourg for three nights at the Romantik Hotel Beaucour. Fantastic. It's easy to get to from the train station (the city's Tram is great) and is located in the heart of this historic city a short walk from the cathedral. The hotel is utterly charming, has quiet comfortable rooms, and serves a wonderful breakfast. Just as important, the staff was great. When I called from the USA to inquire about a room, I found Claire Lise Baumann very friendly, informative and helpful. And after we arrived, she and her team went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, answer questions, and provide good advice.
One small inconvenience was the stability of one's wifi connection; I needed to re-log on more frequently than normal. But this inconvenience was totally overshadowed by the many positives noted above.
I booked this hotel based on the recommendation of a friend. After experiencing the charm & comfort of the hotel, and the helpfulness of its staff, I'm happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a jewel of a hotel in Strasbourg.
