Sadly our room was in the eaves at the top of 5 flights of stairs, the room was very very small - not really sufficient space for 2 guests plus their luggage. Bathroom very badly set out, you need to sit sideways on the toilet as it's situated in the corner at a very odd angle. There is secure carparking available offsite, it took a little while to organise but we were met in a nearby street and taken to the carpark and then assisted to the hotel with our luggage.
Some staff were friendly and helpful and others couldn't have been more opposite.
We didn't have breakfast as it was rather expensive and not included in the price.
No drink making facilities in the room.
There was no apparent means of escape in the case of a fire - certainly would not meet UK fire safety standards.
The room and the rest of the Hotel were very clean and a credit to the housekeeping team.
Bed was small and uncomfortable.
Location was excellent for all local attractions.
OK for a 1 night stay but there are lots of hotels that are still in very easy reach of the local attractions that I'd be inclined to choose from next time I visit Strasbourg.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a lower floor

The Hotel Cathedrale is located directly in front of the Notre Dame of Strasbourg. Nestled amidst the busy streets and restaurants there is no better location for a hotel in Strasbourg. I went with the Superior Room option and had a fantastic view of the Cathedral.

The hotel itself is rather small and the rooms are not very large, but the location makes up for the size. The rooms that face the Cathedral sit directly above the town square. If you prefer peace and quiet over amazing views you might want to request a room that faces the inner courtyard.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying there again when I return.

We stayed in the 4 star part of this Strasbourg hotel overlooking the Cathedral, with amazing views, the room was exceptionally large with a bed that could be closed off from a living room, separate toilet and bathroom, with a separate bath and shower in the bathroom. Staff were really accommodating and very helpful, no problem with an early check in, or asking for things. Best stay of our trip.

This was the 5th of 5 hotels we stayed in on a tour of the Alsace Wine Route and a big disappointment, the other 4 all being charming establishments offering good / exceptional facilities and service. First, you have to find it and park which is a challenge in Strasbourg. We used the underground car park in Gutenberg square which had helpful electronic indicators to guide you to a free space. Parking for 24hrs was 44E or less for 23hrs etc. The hotel is right opposite the mightily impressive cathedral and in a very busy area surrounded by restaurants and gift shops. It has an almost hostel feel and look about it and is in need of refurbishment. It's a rabbit warren of corridors with rooms tucked away in every nook and cranny. The rooms were adequate and clean but very dated, soulless and in need of an overhaul. The bath was stained, tiles were broken, the sink unit dominated the bathroom making moving around difficult for even one person. In hindsight, it was a poor choice as there are plenty of other options in the city. I won't be returning, despite the unrivalled and magnificent view of the cathedral. One positive was the wifi was easy to connect to.

Room Tip: A cathedral view was the only saving grace.

When we were looking for the hotel we wouldn't have imagined how close was form everything! It is in the middle of everything and really close to the main attractions. The hotel is independent and really cute. Decoration fantastic with small bits of the cathedral! I love absolutely everything!!
The only weird thing was the check in, we arrived earlier and we never got ask the ID or similar. The bags were left in the corridor without no tags or security. The guys in reception not really chatty but housekeeping really smily and nice!
Nice shower. Nice room. Nice boutique hotel. Good rate tho!
100%recommendable
