Amazing food and great people running it. I was going to give this restaurant 5 but the service was so slow that we had to skip desert. Waited 20 minutes for the only menu card in the restaurant, just to see another table getting it right away. We then asked to pay but had to wait additional 30 minutes to pay.. we were so sad to end a great meal like that. The food were incredible, the wine and beer selection very good and it was the nicest people working there.

We went to l'Arpege for dinner one night during our stay in Colmar and were so delighted we made reservation for another evening. The food and service was outstanding. It is a family run restaurant producing high quality cuisine with a dedication to organic foods on a daily basis. We had a party of of six the first evening and everyone chose something a little different and there were zero complaints. The wine list was fine with a good selection of local and other french wines. Our return visit matched the first. Gregoire, our waiter and proprietor was great, even opening a bottle of wine a few hours ahead of our reservation so it would be at its peak when we dined. Frankly, we ate at one of the local Michelin starred restaurants on another evening and enjoyed our experience at l'Arpege far more. Great food and service without the pomp etc. And the prices were fair and reasonable, a great value. If you visit Colmar, this place should be on your list.

What you can't see from the entrance on rue des Marchands is that at the other end of the little alleyway lies the most charming courtyard garden. The tables are perfectly spaced around the terrace, allowing for a buzz of happy diners but without feeling your neighbour can hear your every word.

The chalkboard menus are changed regularly, depending what is in season...and it shows - the food is delicious. Friendly service and a satisfying wine list too.

We were tipped off by our guide from a wine tour and were lucky to get a table. Our hotel made the reservation for us and we got the last spot. It was a Saturday, but I would still play it safe and book.

Price-wise, it was fair considering the quality. We both had starters and main courses (too full for dessert...sadly) and shared a carafe of pinot noir. All came in just under 100Euros.

A nice touch, they routinely filled up our tap water without even being asked. Would certainly return...especially as the desserts looked so good!

Thanks to other customers who posted on trip advisor otherwise we wouldn’t have found this gem. A superb welcome with excellent food - attention to detail not just on the food but the owner noticed we hadn’t had the wine we ordered and within seconds it appeared, so nice that I didn’t have to ask. Price was fine, Colmar is an expensive place to eat but more so to drink. Definitely worth the visit thank you to the owners for translating and for the free grappa . Merci
