We stayed at David's house for three nights, myself with my son and his wife and their two preschoolers. It was an excellent choice for us with lots of room and a comfortable bed for everyone. We met David on our arrival and he came back to say goodbye. Although we didn't get to the art gallery that he is part of, we enjoyed his artwork dilsplayed throughout the house. The house is just a few steps away from one end of High Street, but yet enough off the beaten track to be peaceful. We enjoyed the village of Chipping Camden, even found a great outdoor playground for the kiddies, and liked the nearby villages of Brockley, the Slaughters, Stow on the Wold,, and Snowshill with the lavender fields. We would be pleased to stay at Croftsbrook again! Thanks David!
The house is very well equipped and was beautifully clean. Although not large, the garden surrounds the house and has been laid out as extra 'rooms' with chairs and tables. The house and gardens are very private and the house has a lovely atmosphere. It is an excellent place to explore the Cotswolds from as it is centrally placed.
Where to start!?! We all four loved our week-long stay at Croftsbrook in Chipping Campden during our multi-week trip to England (and beyond)! The "cottage" and garden fit the charming English Cotswold property we had envisioned, and the owner-host, David, enlivened and enlightened our stay! (David Birch is a local/regional artist whose work we were able to view both in the home and at two local shows/galleries during our stay.) The roomy cottage is tucked along a quiet street just off the west end of the High Street, and only a few minutes walk from pubs, restaurants, shops historic sites, walking paths, and galleries of the village. We cooked most meals in the complete kitchen, having shopped at the co-op store and bakery/deli most days. There are three bedrooms, all upstairs, with two being very large (facing the westerly, front garden and the driveway), and a third smaller (facing the back garden and open field); beds can be arranged to suit. Also, plenty of closet and dresser storage. Two bathrooms, one upstairs (roomier), one down (tucked into a smaller niche), were fine for our needs and we had no problems as just two couples (sister/brother/spouses), in our 60's. On the main floor there was also a living room (lounge as the English would call it), a dining room, cloak room, one bathroom, and the kitchen (which had the "infamous" combo washer-dryer (unlike the separate units we use here in the USA). There were plenty of dinnerware, cookware, utensils, etc. for our use. The back garden had loads of privacy, some outdoor seating, and a clothesline (which we made use of)! There is wi-fi, and my personal best connection location was upstairs sitting by the large hall window........but my sister-in-law had good connections elsewhere in the house. David keeps a studio annex/"apartment" with the cottage as well, and we were so lucky to have him "in-residence" some of the days and nights during our stay. Some of our most memorable moments were conversations with him and wonderful, humorous stories he told! There is so much to tell about our stay, that I cannot fit it all in! We did have a car.....a must (unless you are ardent hikers!), and had day trips to Bath, Oxford, Stratford-Upon-Avon. But time in Chipping Campden, Broadway, Lower Slaughter (with friends for Sunday lunch!), Bourton-on-theWater, and Broad Campden (especially Broad Campden!!) were the favorites! We sincerely cannot wait to come back to Croftsbrook in the future!

Cottage with homely character, perfectly appointed, excellent position to explore the Cotswolds. Owner very friendly and helpful.
Ideal location in the beautiful village of Chipping Campden. The house has every amenity and was comfortably big enough for our family of 5 including child and two other young adults.
