if your after a nice day out for a walk around gardens and a look around a hall as it once was this is the place to come
a lot of gardens that are well looked after you could spend a couple of hours here itself
lots to see here then go into the hall as it once was not being revamped but as it was realy good and staff are good at information
you can easy spend 2 hours in the hall itself
theres a cafe
plenty of parking and if you have English heritage then its free
in summer they do different events like brass bands ect

Visited today. Splendid Hall building maintained by English Heritage. Very interesting talk by a guide. The gardens were beautiful & varied. There was a small cafe which served good quality snacks(hot & cold) & drinks.easy to find location within 10 mins of A1.
You don't need to book but there are only two guided tours per day.
Will definitely return especially to see the gardens at a different time of year.

As recent members of English Heritage this is one of the first we have visited . close to home ,less than an hour away. We booked to go on the tour of the hall with the guide Michael who was very knowledgeable about the history of the families who had owned the property and what they had done to it. As a group he couldn't show us all that is available for the public to see so we will definitely have a visit back there soon. The gardens are stunning and so beautifully kept, we need to spend more time walking around there as well., I can see it being a favourite.

We've been lot's of times, and this time we went for the sole purpose of walking round the magnificent gardens.

When we arrived we were in time for the gulded walk round the gardens, and were the only two people on the walk. It was a treat from beginning to end.

The walk was actually our first with Pauline, the volunteer guide. It was a glorious sunny afternoon, the last day of September. What more could we ask for.

The gardens are absolutely glorious, the pillow beds and the two huge male and female monkey trees were my favorite.

Pauline brought the garden alive for us, and gave us an insight into the names of flowers and trees, why things are planted where they are, moved sometimes. She told us about the head gardener and how amazing he is, and the big team of volunteers that help to keep Brodsworth in top condition.

Pauline also mentioned that in a couple of weeks the flowers will be lifted and new plants sown ready for Spring. If anyone reading this wants to see the beautiful flower pillow beds, please go in the bext couple of weeks, and take your camera. Oh, it's so magical and perfect.

Pauline was so lovely and informative, had some pictures to show us of how things were in the 'olden' days, and how some of the plants and trees were imported from far flung places.

Pauline deserves a mention and thank you to an amazing bunch of staff and volunteers who work so hard at Brodsworth.
