“Lots of character and a great location”
Reviewed 28 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed at the apartment for 4 days while visiting family in the area. It was very comfortable and quiet, and in a wonderful location right by the castle and within walking distance of the station, shops and cafes.
The owners were very helpful and walked us through the quirks of finding and living in an old building. They have modernized the apartment tastefully while retaining its character. It is larger than it looks and with a pleasant living room and well equipped kitchen it makes a good home away from home.
Parking is rather a problem, but that is going to be the case anywhere in the centre of Lancaster.

I have just had a 5 night stay at Nip Hill and I found it to be an excellent base from which to explore the area. Being less than a five minute walk from both the train and bus stations a car is not necessary. The flat itself is very comfortable and well equipped. Being an old building it is in someways unusual which added greatly to its charm. Staying on my own I felt very secure. Lancaster is a very vibrant city with lots of bars, cafés and restaurants. I could certainly made the flat on Nip Hill my home.

“A hidden gem!”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

I stayed at Nip Hill for 1 night with two of my friends. I was thrilled with the accommodation, it was flawless. Spacious, bright, clean and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The iPod dock hidden in the radio was a great find. Fabulous location, right opposite the castle. We parked outside the castle which was free of charge from 6pm saturday and all day sunday. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and very friendly. Communication was excellent. Definitely stay again.

“Well appointed, quaint, cosy and good location”
Reviewed 24 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

My teenage son and I stayed at Nip Hill for a long weekend just before Easter. Don't be put off by parking issues as there is convenient long stay parking in a number of locations nearby (Dallas Road best for price and just 5 mins walk away). Cottage is most unusual and in the best part of Lancaster and only moments from the center. Also close to some nice walks along the river. We recommend this rental.
