Even with two small kids in a buggy this place was so relaxing. An ice cream in the walled area and play with other children while I sat back and enjoyed the fun! Beautiful walk around and fabulously maintained. Very inexpensive treat

Friendly man on the gate.. charged only €5 for entry to the grounds.
We had a lovely walk around the lake which is stunning. Unfortunately the building is being restored so a lot of restricted areas right now.
Tea rooms were lovely with coffee & cake/scone for €3.50
Our daughter would have spent all day there feeding the peacocks.

Great place to bring young kids. Loads of walks. I especially enjoyed our walk around the big lake. The views are only super.

The walled garden is a great place to bring a picnic and lie on the grass the green are is great for kids to run, explore and meet new friends.

The restaurant is lovely to stop in and has refreshments to suit all. You can sit inside or out in the courtyard. If sitting outside except to see loads of peacocks. They would practically eat out of you hand.

Lovely area.

A wonderful place, beautiful grounds and so beautiful and peaceful. This is definitely worth a visit for anyone who has an interest in Agricultural history and machinery. A very good Famine display also. Lovely place for a walk and to learn a bit about history. Fantastic little coffee shop with delicious cakes.

We stopped here during the week - we thought it would be a quick ramble round the gardens. We were pleasantly surprised! There’s loads to do!
The nice gent at the hut on the way in gave us a map and chatted about all there was to see and do.
Lots of good walks and the grounds are stunning. We had coffee and cake in the tea rooms - again the staff there were lovely.
There’s lots of places to sit and enjoy your coffee - we sat on benches outside as it was a glorious day.
The lady in the gift shop helped us pick a book on the history of the castle and we rambled round the museum.
Its a beautiful place in which to spend a few hours. Top marks for the staff !
