The White House is a beautiful quiet space in walking distance from the centre of Westport. Restored with great attention to detail, every room of the house breathes Rachel's hospitality. Definitely recommend it!
I have stayed here for the month and I fell in love with this place. Its location, the coziness and all the amenities that go with it made it home. When I arrived, there were fresh flowers, the fridge stocked with eggs, butter, jelly, loaf of bread and a bottle of wine. Coffee and tea. It was a full working kitchen and I frequently sat out in the private patio enjoying nature’s sounds.Rachel was my “go to”girl. A text message away and she went all out with ideas to spend my time, pick up laundry and even showed me how to make an Irish fire . She has a book on all you need to know about the apartment as well as the community. She was my safety net. I am truly going to miss this place. There isn’t anything that I could recommend to better my stay. Rachel thought of everything.
We have just returned from a weekend stay at the White House and our stay was magical! The house is very cosy and warm with beautiful decor. Being in the heart of Westport, there is easy access to all of the local bars and resturants but its location is on a very quiet street overlooking the river so the house itself was very peaceful. While there we made an easy car journey to take in some of the stunning scenery around Kylemore abbey, leenane and Delphi. Our host was Rachel who welcomed us was lovely and very helful, she even went to the trouble of lighting a fire before we arrived which was a lovely touch! I would highly recommend a stay in the White house.
Myself, husband and 7 month old spent two relaxing and enjoyable nights at The White House. We were absolutely delighted with every element of the stay. The location was excellent for popping to all the fabulous restaurants and pubs of Westport - only a 5 minute walk to the centre of the compact town. It's also right on the door step for getting onto the Greenway for a walk to the Quay.
The White House itself is ideal for a couple of small family. All the essentials are set up for you, and some extras too - lovely chocolates, bathrobes, milk, Irish butter, bread and Orange juice!
The pictures do not do justice to the size of the kitchen and bedroom in particular. We brought our own travel cot and there was ample room for this at the end of the very comfortable bed.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, and coffee lovers are well catered for with the espresso machine and filter! The Rayburn in the kitchen kept us nice and toasty.
The wifi was excellent throughout the house too!
Rachel, our host, could not have been more welcoming or helpful. What a star she is!! She had a fire going for us as we arrived, and even brought extra coal to make sure we would stay warm during Storm Ophelia!
Thank you for providing us with a gorgeous base for our little family break. We will be back!!
Beautiful old house with comfortable sitting room and spacious kitchen downstairs. Gorgeous bedroom upstairs with bathroom. There’s a really tranquil feel to the house and a lovely welcome from our hostess, Rachel who also left us some basics for breakfast which was much appreciated. We’ve been to Westport lots of times so know the town well and it was a pleasure to step out of the White House for the few minutes stroll along the river into the town. We were sorry to leave after two nights and would definitely stay again.
