Owner description: The traditional application of falconry has been to take a Bird of Prey, train it and then attempt to catch wild quarry with it. Although our guided walks with hawks experience, is not a hunting expedition, it is a leisurely stroll through the majestic settings of Killarney with falconer and hawk/or team of hawks and shows the ability of trained birds and their relationship with their human partners. The participants will have hands on experience with the hawks, you will be able to handle and fly the hawk yourselves under instruction from killarney falconry's falconers. We finish up with an owl encounter where you can handle & hold an owl. Private Hawk Walk Duration 1hr approx One Participant 70euro Two Participants 100euro Three Participants 130euro Family Package (2adults/2kidsU14)120euro Extra Participants/Spectators €30each, Times between 10am to 3.30pm Daily Weather permitting activity. Pre-booking avoids disappointment Locations for Hawk Walks may change due to conditions but normally 5/10mins drive from Killarney town centre Kind Regards Killarney Falconry Geoffrey 0872401551 / 00353872401551

What a great time. If you enjoy animals than this is for you. Lots of time with the birds, tons of photo and video ops and a lot of great history and education. Those who posted that they got bored must not appreciate the time and effort that goes into working animals. The guide was awesome and treated the birds as if they were his children. You could tell he respected the bird and the quarry. He also new the history of falconry in great detail. I am hooked and now researching falconry at home. Thanks for a great experience.

This was not only our favorite activity that we did in Killarney but also in Ireland. Our guide was fantastic...so knowledgeable...I wasn’t expecting to learn so much about the birds. I have a whole new respect for falconry and the details that go into training and caring for the birds. It was amazing to watch the bird and handler work as a team. My husband and I felt like kids after the afternoon walk we had laughed so hard. You cannot go to Killarney without doing this! Book in advance to guarantee you don’t miss it.

I didn’t want it to end. I loved the hawks and baby owls! We were given a lot of information about the birds and history of falconry. We were given ample opportunity for pictures with the birds. It was an amazing experience!

This was one of the most fun things we did in Ireland! A must do in Killarney. Our hawk was Arizona and it was super amazing to see him up close. We all got to have him perch on our hands (with protective leather gloves, of course) and he even landed on one of our heads! Super cool. Very informative, too and our guide was great. Then we all got to hold and pet different owls. Again... amazing. The four of us all loved it. I will do it again if I ever make it back to Ireland.

John, falconer, met us in the remote location shown in many of the attached pictures. It was a beautiful day for the five us to walk with Tex the Harris Hawk. The experience with John and his hawk Tex was complete with education about falconry and birds of prey. Topping the experience was the opportunity for each of us to hold a different owl. This excursion was a highlight of our two week self-guided tour of Ireland.
