One look at the picture of The Long Walk says it all, you would be hard pressed to stay in a more picturesque and quaint setting. What you cant see is this: down the street 200 m is the Galway Museum, the Spanish Arch, and the amazing restaurant Ard Bia. Another 100 m takes you into the Latin Quarter and shops area, where you find literally dozens of bars, shops, and restaurants. Inside the house everything is like new, it is impeccably clean, and the bedrooms are comfortable with lots of storage. We had a group of 7 and had plenty of room, although I'd say sleeping 11 would be a bit of a stretch. There is a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and reliable WiFi. Parking right in front of the door with a included permit. The property manager was responsive to our every need.
My family and I rented this house in Galway, and we thought it was truly exceptional!
I had a very easy time making our arrangements to stay there. The people who opened the house were accommodating to my family who arrived in advance of me, and all our needs were met.
The house was beautiful and spotless. We had everything we needed, including snacks, soft drinks, coffee and tea.
I would recommend this house to anyone who wanted comfort and convenience in Galway. It was a great home base for my first, but I hope not my last, visit to Ireland. When I return, I'll try to book this property again.
We are a group of 8 friends from around the world. We get together every two years to catch up, laugh, have a good time and see new places. This summer, it was Western Ireland. We chose Galway as our base and stayed in this beautiful house for a week.
First off, there are some things you need to know before you book. The house will seem smaller in person than it looks on the website. There are three floors. The beds are arranged thusly: 2nd floor (the floor above the ground floor) has two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Each room has one double bed. The 3rd floor has one room with two twin beds, and one room with one double bed. We needed two extra beds and were provided with inflatable beds that worked fine (and stayed inflated the entire week.)There is also a bathroom on the 3rd floor. There is no bathroom on the ground (main) floor.
Those are the only things I can think of that are remotely negative. The positives of this house far outweigh those points.
The location is unbeatable. All bedrooms have beautiful views of Galway Bay. Walk out the front door, turn right, and in less than 2 minutes, you are at the Spanish Arch. From there it's across a plaza, cross a street, and you're on the main street of town. All kinds of grocery stores, restaurants, pubs, and shops are right there. The main bus terminal is about a 10-15 minute walk from the house.
The welcome basket waiting for us was a nice touch: filled with water, fruit, candy and all kinds of treats. We enjoyed that all week!
Laura (the manager) and her staff were prompt with communications and gave us everything we needed for a great stay.
We have stayed all over the world, in some pretty remarkable places, but this house was the only one we've ever stayed in that actually features on postcards! It really is a well-photographed street: there are always tourists outside, taking pictures of the street! Despite that, it was very quiet at night.
We would highly recommend a stay here, especially if you have a week or so. Galway was the perfect base for visits to the Aran Islands, the Cliffs of Moher, Connemara, and so on. But we especially enjoyed coming "home" to this wonderful house.
I highly recommend a stay here.
Very nice house with three floors that is close to everything in Galway. It was a bit smaller than the pictures make it look, but still was very nice. Our family of 8 did not really fit in the small living room, but we made it work. Overall, a great house.

The house was amazing. High standard finish all round. However, it was those personal we touches that made it great. It was an amazing gesture when a very nice young lady came to the door with 3 large umbrellas, amongst other things, because it was raining.
I would highly recommend a stay in this house to all considering it!! The nearness to the town and the beautiful scenery was of outstanding beauty!!
All the staff we encountered whilst there was polite, pleasant and assisted us with any needs we required. They went above and beyond what we would have expected. Please send on my thanks to them all. Out of 5 I would have to give you the full 5 as we all enjoyed the house and its charming character.
Again many many things for an amazing holiday
