Arrived early AM after overnight flight - room was not ready until mid afternoon. Stayed as part of a tour group. Staff was pleasant but seemed to be overworked with no one available to bring our luggage to the room.
Room was adequate with a large but poorly designed bathroom having a shower in the corner of the bathroom with no separation from the rest of the bathroom.
Location was good, close enough to walk to most of Dublin attractions
Overall based on the room, food, and service, it was our least favorite of the five hotels we stayed in during our tour.

This was the beginning of our Ireland tour with CIE. Very good location. We took a bus from the airport for 7 euros each and after a 5 minute walk across the river Effie we were there. Very nice and comfortable rooms and the breakfast was good except for the "black pudding" yuk! How do they eat that stuff?.
We were walking distance to many sights in Dublin and if you don't like to walk you can always jump on a bus.

Room tip: They were very cooperative in getting us into pour rooms early, we arrived at 9 AM and they had our rooms ready, what a lifesaver that was

We were fortunate to get a booking at the Clayton Hotel on Cardiff Lane in Dublin.
It is a great spot for walking to restaurants, Temple Bar area, pubs, etc.
The hotel has a modern look to it. The rooms are updated and nice big bathrooms.
We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the food was good.
Desk clerks very helpful and servers quite attentive.
The problem with all hotels in international destinations is many travelers arrive in
the morning-tired from an overnight flight and hotels cannot get a room until after
2 or 3 in the afternoon. So you walk around like a zombie or sleep in the hotel lobby.
I would like to see some kind of cooperation between airlines and hotel chains to
accomodate travelers.

Room tip: Ask for a room back side of hotel away from street.

Dear 680michaelg2014,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane.

I was happy to see that you enjoyed your overall stay with us, however I was saddened to learn of your jet-lag and the room not being available after your long flight.
Unfortunately, when being fully booked on the night before of arrival we can not accommodate early arrivals. Whenever rooms are available our Front Office Team will offer a complimentary early check in to all guests arriving early.
Refreshments should have been offered to you, I am truly sorry this did not happen.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane on your next visit to Dublin.

Warm Regards,
Conor O'Kane
