Very nice zoo. Got to see animals in habitat in herds and finally a hippopotamus. Great variety of creatures. Nice wolf enclosure. Penguin and places to eat should you need. Food was good as well.

Spacious, well laid out attraction. Fewer animals of each species than expected, but they appear to be healthy. Giraffe enclosure was v. impressive.

We went on the hop on hop off tour, and thought it would be a nice few hours on what turned out to the hottest day of the year so far. Due to the heat, not many of the animals were out, which was a shame. I wanted to see the penguins who were nowhere to be seen, and most of the other animals were in hiding, I imagine finding some cool shade to sleep in. It would have been helpful if more staff had been present to explain this to people though, we encountered a lot of very unhappy children as we wandered round. The zoo itself is lovely, and set in the park so the surroundings are beautiful. You forget you're in a city very quickly. More staff, or better communication would have made the experience better, but we left feeling like we had just paid a lot to walk around an empty but pretty Park.

I have been going to Dublin Zoo probably once or twice a year since I was a child and it has changed quite a bit for the good. We went to the Zoo last week with my 2 nieces and my mother and father. My mother has issues with her legs and finds it hard to walk for contious length of time without breaks of sitting down which we worried about going to the zoo. We needn't have worried at all as there are so many more points throughout the zoo with benches and places to rest or eat. We had an amazing time! The new layout of the zoo is brilliant and you feel closer to the animals with the monkey island in the African Plains and the Flamingos enclosure. I'll definitely be going back again before the summer is out

While zoos can be controversial Dublin zoo has done its best to ensure the animals have space while still being viewable to those who choose to visit. It was June,a great time to visit as the “babies” are getting a bit bigger while still being super cute. The gardens are beautiful. It was a gorgeous day not to hot or cold and sunny not a given for those aware of the vagaries of an Irish summer. A great way to pass a few hours and enjoy the magic of animals. Suitable for all ages even those who spend most of their time, eyes on their phones rather than aware of their surroundings. Phoenix park is worth a gander too. Came across a herd of deer on our way back to the car. Majestic animals and not afraid of humans.
