Owner description: Situated 8km from Cork City, this historic castle is most famous for its stone, which has the traditional power of conferring eloquence on all who kiss it. The word Blarney was introduced into the English language by Queen Elizabeth I and is described as pleasant talk, intended to deceive without offedning. The stone is set in the wall below the battlements, and to kiss it one has to lean backwards (grasping an iron railing) from the parapet walk. LAST ADMISSION IS 60 MINS BEFORE CLOSING TIME

Gteat place to shop and eat. You have a choice of 2 places, a pubs nd a restaurant. Both have great food. The shopping is huge so give yourself time. The wait for the Blarney stone can be long so take plenty of water to stay hydrated. Fairly long climb up the steps. 157 steps I think someone said. It's an adventure!

Really nice and beautiful, beautiful view! The tales of Ireland were spread and written in every corner. Very interesting and beautiful to read!

My brother chip visited Ireland last year and told me kissing the Blarney Stone was his highlight, so it was a must for me and my wife Nancy on our recent tour to Ireland!!!
It is quite high, so not for the faint hearted!!!
A beautiful location and and we were lucky with the weather, if you’re lucky you might spy a pesky leprechaun peaking out from under a bush!!!!!

Cork is an amazing city, and one of the best point to check it out is the Blarney Castle, few points: It is a bit expensive to get in, you will pay 18€ not only to go up but to walk inside the gardens and see all over the property, its a place where you can easily spend more then 3 hours if you are willing to walk and see everything. The castle is pretty amazing you will face a cue to go upstairs but if you go early you don't spend more then 20min, the stairs are very very narrow so if you have any problem either with highs or with closed places its better to go and check the poison garden or the other tracks the property offer, bring water and something to eat is very nice place to seat relax and enjoy the view. They do have a coffee shop but is a bit overpriced and dont have many options. Truly nice experience!

This entire compound is huge and stunning - besides the looming castle, there are several outbuildings and the gardens are not to be missed, allow yourself lots of time to explore all of the different sections of the gardens......we saw varieties of trees we've never seen before - gorgeous well maintained grounds. The castle itself is huge, with lots of signage to explain the functioning of each area back when it was in use. We personally did not kiss the stone - the lines were extremely long and our time was limited, and we wanted to maximize our time there seeing as much as we could, not standing in line. We were able to stand below and slightly across from the stone and looking up, see the visitors leaning over, planting their kiss. Fun to watch but I am not at all sad that we didn't do it. There is so much else to see and do in this special place, unique among the castles that we visited on our Irish adventure due to the massive and gorgeous gardens.
