I have friends for whom the non-moveable diary entry is a standing date on the first Saturday of the month at Perth Farmers' Market, where they stock up on bacon from Puddledubs, and venison, sausages and smoked fish from an interesting array of other vendors. If I'm in tow there may also be a bun or two from one of the bakers. Very good of its type for folk who like , and are willing to pay for, quality local goods.

A fantastic array of different stalls of exceptional quality. All sorts of products from organic vegetables to specialist fish cheese and meats. There are also two artisan bakers whose products are truly fantastic. Be prepared to spend lots of money because there are so many fantastic of items for sale. They are there on the first Saturday of every month. I for one, would never miss going.

Visited the Farmer's Market whilst on an outing to Perth. This had the biggest number of stalls of any of the towns we have visited so far. Perth Farmer's Market is on the first Saturday of every month except January.
Wide selection of 'fairly' local produce (some of the vendors come from other counties) - cheese, wine, meat, fish, condiments etc. Many of the stalls offer small samples to taste as well - just so you can be absolutely sure you are going to enjoy your purchases.
Couple of hot food vans also - they appeared to be an addition to the meat stalls - an ideal opportunity to try the produce already cooked!
Well worth a visit as much of the produce cannot be found in the supermarkets.
