Description: Perths 63 Tay Street is regularly billed as one of Scotlands top restaurants. Set in a typical imposing grey stone building, the small but perfectly formed dining room is pure elegance from soaring ceilings to polished wood floors. The menu is made up of British classics given a contemporary twist, so youll find your Aberdeen Angus served with an oxtail sauce and your Inverurie lamb rack, neck and shank may be served with traditional neeps, but youll also find chorizo mash on your plate. The use of fresh, local ingredients and fine produce sourced from further afield means that every dish promises to delight those tastebuds.

Yesterday lunchtime we greatly enjoyed the four course tasting menu (£22) accompanied by the paired wines (£15). The intensity of flavours of the smoked haddock and sweetcorn soup was superb. The mushroom ketchup complemented the egg and maple panchetta for the second course. The beef bavette for the main course was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented, as was the whipped crowdie and bitter chocolate sorbet garnished with brambles for dessert. I couldn’t fault the meal or wine selection, which was exceptionally good value for money and is highly recommended.

Was given an voucher for a steak lunch at this restaurant. We were welcomed in by a very pleasant lady and shown to our table. The menu was explained to us and we advised the waitress that we would only be having the steak lunch. The steaks were ordered and arrived as we had asked for them to be done. They were accompanied by chipssauce and a cooked tomato. The portion was generous in size and just right for a light lunch. To complete our meal we had coffee which was lovely. The decor was lovely and the staff excellent, we will certainly be returning here to sample their 4 course meal at £22.00 as it looks good value for money. Thank you

The 'Just Feed Us Graeme' is perfect for an early supper and a cocktail or two. Service was courteous and attentive while being friendly and informal enough to create a relaxing atmosphere. Each dish was beautifully presented, creative and extremely tasty! I particular appreciated that my vegetarian option was as well thought as that on the main menu. Everything about the evening was high quality, a real treat and exceptionally good value at £22 for 4 courses.

Our party of four all had the tasting menu with the exclusive wine flight. The food was just perfect. We have pretty high standards and each course just hit the spot. A risotto with crabmeat. Salad of cured pigeon. Red mullet with Asian influence. Spatchcock with pasta and a light and delicious fruity dessert. The service was charming. Wine selections were good (opinions varied about how good) but certainly no misses.

I would highly recommend 63 Tay St for a special occasion or just a great meal. We drove down from Gleneagles for the meal and it was well worth it. An unexpected treat.

Had dinner here on a Saturday evening. Shrimp risotto starter was excellent, followed by the tastiest ribeye steak I have tasted for a long time. Nice atmosphere. Service was a bit on slow side but food was worth waiting for. Would definitely recommend.
