“Delightful Hideaway”
Reviewed 2 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

It truly was a hideaway and we loved the seclusion and privacy. The hostess ensured that the hot tub was set to the correct temperature and the outside gardens were charming and completely private. It is a small and charming two story home well suited for 2-3 people with an upstairs bedroom and bath and a single with half bath downstairs. The home had been redone and was modern and clean with kitchen, dishwasher, washer and clothesline. Both bedrooms and living area had it's own TV and the Wifi worked well. It was close to Nairn and there were three grocery markets within 5 to 10 minutes. If you are golfer, Castle Stuart is close by as well as many Highland golf courses within and hour and a half. Also within an hour of distilleries such as Glenfiddich and Glen Livet. There was a on street parking with a designated space. Overall, wonderful experience and I would highly recommend the hideaway as a great home base in the Highlands.

“A wonderful place to relax where every detail was thought about”
Reviewed 12 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The hideaway is a lovely home and a lovely escape from the busyness of everyday. We felt completely provided for and comfortable, and so appreciated all the little touches. All of the facilities were absolutely great, and we especially loved the hot tub - it was perfect for relaxing in the sun!

Auldearn was the ideal location for a quiet stay, and also for getting to other parts of the Moray coast easily. Nairn beach was a joy, as was Lossie, Roseisle and Hopeman, but we always enjoyed coming back to the Hideaway at night and feeling so at home.

All in all, a brilliant stay and we'd definitely love to go back again.

We were in need of a rest after touring the Hebrides, and this was certainly the place to have one. The owners did every thing they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
the property is very well appointed.

A lovely place to stay, very relaxing, fantastic hot tub, and lots of little touches by the owner in the house. Wonderful beaches and places to visit nearby. Left feeling refreshed and would definitely recommend.

“The Highland's hidden gem!”

We have just spent a week at The Hideaway and we had a wonderful time. Auldearn itself is a quiet little village - more like a hamlet, with a post office that sells the basics, a pub (which we didn't visit) and a very charming antique shop! It's a 5 minute drive to Nairn though, with a big Sainsbury's, and all the other normal amenities that come with a town.

Anyway, back to The Hideaway. It's a very charming cottage, hidden away from the main street. There is a lovely split level garden with two nice lawns (with a sandpit on the top one!) an outside seating area and double BBQ! Oh and of course the hot tub! We were lucky enough to stay when the Perseids meteor shower was occurring - so every night we sat in the hot tub, with some pink champagne (well, my husband had beer) and watched the shooting stars - it was truly magical. The cottage is very nice indeed, with a lovely living/dining area, kitchen (with dishwasher) and downstairs wc. The second bedroom is downstairs too, down a little way from the living room - which was good for our toddler. Upstairs there was the master bedroom and bathroom - very nice with a large walk in shower. There's no bath but Jane lent us a baby bath for our 17 month toddler (but he ended up being fine in the shower after all). The master bedroom is very nice, with ample storage. Another perk to staying in The Hideaway is Jane and Fraser - they are perfect hosts-by-proxy, every query or question is met promptly and helpfully; they made our stay extra nice. We would definitely like to return to The Hideaway and can't recommend it, or the surrounding area enough. It really does benefit from the micro-climate effect and every day the general weather report seemed much too pessimistic for the weather we had. Nearby you can find Nairn, Inverness, Loch Ness, Fort George, highland glens... the list is endless. We are very sorry to be back home.
