“Very comfortable cottage, good location.”
Reviewed 25 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

I decided to visit Kyle of Lochalsh to see how the place had changed since I was last there in 1963. I decided to stay at a holiday rental, rather than a hotel, in order to give myself freedom to come and go as I pleased.
As soon as I set foot in the premises, I realised I had made a good decision. The property is in a terrace, probably built during the late 19th century, judging by the name, probably for railway workers.
The downstairs consists of a living room, with an adjoining dining room, and a kitchen. In addition, there is a bathroom consisting of a shower and wash basin. The kitchen is well equipped with a hob, fridge, washing machine, and microwave oven. Upstairs, reached by a steep staircase, there are two bedrooms, one a large master bedroom, and a smaller room.
I was pleased free wi-fi was included, which was fairly hi-speed. In addition, I tried a log fire, with surprising success!
Kyle of Lochalsh is a small town, but does have a well equipped Co-Op store within easy walking distance of Railway Terrace. In addition, I enjoyed spending the evening at the Bar at the Lochalsh Hotel.
All in all a very enjoyable stay, which I would be happy to repeat.

The cottage is ideally situated in a quiet part of Kyle yet within a couple of minutes walk to all the amenities. The Skye bridge is a couple of minutes drive away and Plockton only 10 minutes drive or so. Also near Eilean Donan castle, so plenty of places to visit on the mainland or Skye without driving miles. Kyle railway line across the road - well worth a trip to see the lovely scenery. There's also a very good swimming pool and small gym nearby. The cottage has everything you need and is very clean, comfortable and warm - well you don't come to the Highlands for the weather! So at the odd time we decided to stay in from the rain and watch TV it wasn't any problem. Much better than being stuck in a B&B or hotel room. If self catering very well stocked Co-op with plenty of good quality fresh food within a couple of minutes drive.

“Comfortable, Contemporary & Clean cottage!”

The cottage is situated in a perfect location for visiting the beautiful west coast of Scotland around Plokton, Applecross & The Isle of Skye.
The cottage was comfortable for our party of 3 people, we were a little worried a bout our elderly aunt climbing the very steep & narrow staircase but she managed. We loved the use of the wood burner situated in the living room, it even provided heat to the radiators around the cottage.
Millie & Sebastian our 2 pet dogs liked sniffing around the small back garden, under supervision because it is open plan.
Our weekend visiting Kyle of Lochalsh gave us a little taste of the area, and we are already planning a holiday next year.
