Lovely views, good facilities, nice gift shop. Staff around the castle are very helpful. Some of the steps are a bit tricky but ok if you take your time.

We visited this beautiful castle as it was on the wish list of my hubby after it appeared in the film Highlander. The drive to the castle is amazing with views to die for. The castle itself you can go inside but we had our dog with us and no dogs are allowed. The gift shop and cafe are lovely and there is lovely outside seating viewing the castle.

This castle sits almost in the Isle of Skye. It's on the edge of a Loch and is full of history. Do not miss this castle. We saw a lot of castles in our visit to Scotland, and only paid to tour a couple. This one is worth it because of the views out to the loch and being able to walk all around. The entry has a nice exhibit of the history with holograms telling the story. The guides that are stationed in some of the rooms are informative and friendly.

A stunning castle constructed in the 12th/13th century to protect and defend the lands of Kintail against Vikings. Steeped in history of battles and invasions that resulted in parts of the castle being destructed, the castle underwent reconstruction works which were completed in 1932. There is an onsite visitors centre complete with coffee and gift shops.
