“Disappointed”
Reviewed 11 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Obviously arrived on the coldest weekend of the year so far. The place was freezing as the heating was not on and it is electric storage heaters and the heating did not heat the whole house. Between the dining room and the stairs up to the seating area you could really feel how cold it was. No curtains on some of the windows - I do agree it is a beautiful view but think that curtains in winter would help keep what heat there was in the areas. It is a bath in the upstairs bedroom ( a curtain cuts of the area from the large room) and as we had no hot water from the moment we arrived everyone had to use the shower in the downstairs bathroom - 6 of us all trying to get showered. Some of the windows were not double glazed and the condensation on them took me back to when I was a little girl.
The house itself is a gem right in the centre of the town so able to walk to nearly everything but I do think it requires a lot of TLC. There is so much potential to this if it was given a makeover. I do believe that in the hot weather it will be fantastic but if you are going to go when it is cold take plenty of warm clothes just to sit in the house.

Management Response

Thanks for your feedback. The apartment had not been used for 5 days before your visit and I had not realised it had turned so cold. I'll make sure that the heating is now on prior to a booking over the winter months. Sorry for any inconvenience but if you had called me I could have told you how to get additional heat from some of the radiators.

“Wonderful stay!”
Reviewed 29 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

My friends and I (6 of us in total) were blown away with this apartment. The apartment is split over two levels and there was plenty of room for all of us. The view from the upper lounge is incredible. The large fully stocked eat-in kitchen is suitable for cooking all of your meals, there is also a separate dining room with seating for 6. The rooms are all quite spacious. The apartment is located a stone's throw from Fort William's High Street, and there is ample parking for a couple vehicles. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking to stay in Fort William.

Four of us didn't fill this great 4 bed cottage-the space was great and the balcony and sitting room views over the Loch were lovely.Everything we needed to self-cater was provided, the cleanliness was amazing and we had a ball!Fort William is the perfect place for an adventure holiday or simply as a base to explore the Highlands. Our stay was faultless and we felt lucky to have found the Old Harbour Master's Cottage.
