Thanks. Every good review means more guests and more guests means a) jobs for Caithness people b) nearer to getting out of re-build debts and finally c) money to invest in the property e.g. a triple glazed extension outside Sea Shore so people year round can sit inside admiring the fantastic view especially on a glorioisly sunny day like today.

“Cosy cottage in sunshine and high seas.”
Reviewed 1 November 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Sea Cottage in Ackergill is cosy and very comfortable, right on the edge of the sea on Sinclair's Bay.The views are dramatic with waves crashing in close to the cottage and there are amazing views. We would definitely recommend it and intend to return.

So very glad you enjoyed your stay.

Sorry about the TV problems. I have just seen a notice on BBC News explaining why Freeview depends so much on weather conditions. Hopefully you managed to find better things to do when the TV didn't work

Delighted to have hosted Keith‘s group in Sea Otter/Sea Shore Cottage. We would be happy to welcome them back anytime. Hopefully they will have enjoyed their stay at this remarkable location as much as so very many others during the past 10 years and will soon be booking to come back.

“Comfortable and well equipped cottage in glorious location”
Reviewed 28 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Couldn't be closer to the sea. Astounding views - especially from window seats in bedrooms - and a stone's throw from long beach walks. Cottage is real home-from-home; everything you need is there. We had pretty rough weather on a couple of days but cottage was warm, dry and comfortable and wi if and TV meant we enjoyed being indoors! On owners recomendation we visited Wick Heritage Centre - not to be missed - and also spent ages exploring the coastline. Huge thanks to the owners for making us so welcome and for providing an incredibly informative file of "things to do".

So very glad you enjoyed your stay despite the rough weather, well Enjoyed by so many guests from so many countries ever since I gambled on borrowing enough to buy the place just because it had to be a self-catering holiday property rather than an empty second home or a private house

Do let others know of this fantastic location.

The more people that stay, especially in the off season, the more can be spent paying off the cost of the original purchase and the massive re-building debts
and on continuing to improve the property e.g. for proper steps to the sea, and an extension to allow sitting downstairs with a view of the sea.

I have retired and live near London. Just last month I made a personal visit to check the property before the summer season. Amazingly it only cost £54 EasyJet return flight from London Luton to Inverness and back, and then only £23 ticket by train from Inverness to Wick and back. A scenic journey now with Wi-Fi/13 amp sockets & USB phone re-chargers all the way. As you now know Sea Shore and Sea Otter Cottage are only about two miles from the railway station. So - Highly recommended for a spring, winer or autumn break without even having to drive at all.

And last year I had a January visit, relaxing all the way there and back by train for only £70 return. I left Milton Keynes at 8.30 am and arrived in Wick by 10.30 pm. Highly recommended for retired people like me
