The house is interesting but the current photography exhibit of Harry Benson's work is outstanding. The grounds are magnificent with a lovely walk in from the road. There are Highland Cows to see and lovely soup, sandwiches, and daily specials to tempt in the restaurant.

We visited on a wet day but the welcome inside the house was wonderful, and very informative. The house is being renovated and so some of the art was missing which will hopefully be replaced soon especially the areas that have already been repaired.

The 11am tour of the downstairs areas was wonderful and really interesting (you do not get to see inside these rooms unless you are with the tour. The gun room was especially interesting as you felt you had just stepped back in time including the wonderful smell of old leather. It is really worth while spending some time on this trip if you can

The cafe is wonderful with a really great cup of tea and delicious scones and cakes (the lemon and earl-grey sponge cake was delicious).

Outside when fine has some wonderful gardens to visit including the knot garden we could see from the window, a working walled vegetable and fruit garden, a stables with shire horses, a working weir and of course the famous highland cattle (at the time we went there were some really pretty calves).

Great outdoor space - ideal for walking; jogging or simply sitting in the gardens. Pollok House has a lovely café with a varied selection of treats! Good photographic exhibition on (Harry Benson) until the end of the year. Burrell currently closed for refurbishment.

Visited Pollock House yesterday to view the Harry Benson exhibition. House is lovely but badly in need of some work, it’s clear that NTS is trying to keep up with the renovations. Formal gardens are full of weeds which is a shame. We had lunch in the cafe and I have to say that it was totally disorganised. Plenty of staff around but we waited 20 minutes to be served and that was only after we stopped a member of staff. Food was nice and all the staff were pleasant though.

Great images of celebs - The Beatles, US Presidents and old images of Glasgow! displayed in the top floor of Pollok House. I also did the tour which takes in the Butlers Pantry and the Gun Room. A real "upstairs downstairs" experience.
