Lobby clean. Staff professional. Room normal (we had double). Bed hard (normal for EU). Noise TERRIBLE, located next to popular night club. No AC control! No screens on windows. Located on busy street so high traffic noise.

It was disappointing to hear that on this occasion we did not fully meet the high standards you have come to expect from Hilton and for this I apologise.

As the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor is a Grade A Listed Building, we have not received permission to install triple glazing or air conditioning units within our bedrooms. Please be assured these are facilities we are striving towards.

We were able to afford this hotel because it was paid for. And like most expensive hotels, there was breakfast for a price. Initial impression: we were wowed. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The massive windows let in a lot of light, so don't forget to close the curtains. Those large windows means the outside air dictates the internal temperature. Since there's no air conditioning, be sure to plan accordingly.
For the price, I'd hope for more included amenities, but the room was lovely. My biggest disappointment was the lack of complimentary tea or coffee in the hotel anywhere. The front lobby teased us with an espresso machine that was never used--it just sat there, empty and alone.

Room Tip: Traffic noise is greatest on north and east sides.

We do provide tea and coffee making facilities within our bedrooms, I am sorry if you did not locate these during your visit. The coffee machine in our lobby is available for guests to use until 10am should they wish.

Stayed here a night after our original hotel did not work out. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive and made our stay very smooth.

The rooms are clean and bright and the hotel is located in a central area by the botanical garden and lots of restaurants and small shops.

Overall, very satisfied with our short stay!

Stayed her for one night. It is located near many cafes and restaurants and shops. My room was quite noisy as it faced Great Western Road which is a busy road. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was the usual hotel fare. There were nice looking lounges and bar areas but I didn't get the chance to use them. Front of house staff are very friendly.

Well located hotel in a rather splendid over 150 year old building, though it has to be said that it’s more iconic from the outside than the inside. Review based on a one night stay in May (background of spending 80+ nights per year in different hotels around the globe).

Location:
Hotel is located next to a big park (Botanic Gardens). There are lots of bars, restaurants and shops in the immediate neighborhood, especially along Byres Road. For example Waitrose supermarket is next door.

The nearest bus connection is available just a stone’s throw away in Great Western Street, subway station is not too far either (perhaps 500 m walk).

Room:
I got a room on the second floor facing the Botanic Gardens, unfortunately the garden itself was not really visible due to large trees blocking the view. But at least the view was green :-)

The room was quite large, certainly bigger than “the average room” thus more than adequate for my purposes as a single traveler. It has been renovated not too long ago with a rather modern decor, thus nothing really historical as such in the room itself. Everything was clean with no stains or signs of usage anywhere. So no complaints about a rundown room, unlike some earlier reviews.

The room was rather quiet, some noise from the street but nothing really annoying as such. Perhaps the only fault I can mention is the lack of air conditioning. Not an issue for me but might become a problem during the summertime?

Etc:
Breakfast was good with a quite large variety of warm and cold offerings, including local specialties such as haggis, smoked salmon and black pudding. These are warmly welcomed by me since it’s always nice to have something different than just the regular “global Hilton breakfast” which is perfectly fine as such but not really fabulous after you have had it for 100+ times…

Check-in & out was fast and friendly.

Would I return there?
Yes I would, well located hotel with its own charming (if somewhat hidden) historical character
