We visited primarily to see the Mackintosh exhibit organized in celebration of his 150th birthday. It did not disappoint with many drawings, paintings, furniture and other pieces designed by him, his wife Margaret, and others he influenced or worked with.

The museum has a little bit of everything, including art, architecture, natural history, and even (maybe) some live music. Nothing here that is likely to amaze, but I enjoyed my time there, and you can’t beat the free entrance.

What a fantastic building! I arrived on a city tour open top bus which has stops at the front and the back of the building, adjacent to the beautiful gardens. It looked especially lovely in the blazing 31 degree heat, with visitors lounging around on the grass outside. Inside, there's lots of different exhibits, art works and curios. Personally, I found it a bit busy and would rather focus in more detail on less themes. However, it's great for families and children with short attention spans. At 1pm there was a wonderful organ recital - perfect with a cuppa from the cafe!

Burrell Collection is Glasgow's premier art stop Go there first. However, the combination of art museum and natural history museum makes for an interesting combination.

Took my friend here as part of her birthday as she had never visited before. It was still as magical as ever and we both had a fabulous day. Cannot wait to return.
