I stayed 4 nights in room 249.

Comfortable bed
Bath tub
View from restaurant

View over car park
Building works
Staff in dark clothes and black facemasks
Very ordinary breakfast: no orange marmalade (only 3 fruits, honey and jams); no crispy bacon; no jasmine tea; muesli was a small red packet of cheapo Alpen; eggs were hit and miss, sometimes underdone sometimes underdone.

TV switched off 4 times an hour.
Central light wasn't working.
No pens/paper/anything in room (usual covid excuses except the room charge still high!)

Sad old place. Wouldn't stay here again.

Originally had big plans to travel to London for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday, but due to Covid, everything had to get wound down and we had to stay closer to home.
Ended up booking a table for six for afternoon tea at the Old Course Hotel, which we went to only two days ago.
The Road Hole Restaurant was quite busy, but far from mobbed. The location was lovely, with beautiful views across the golf course to the sea. The staff were very attentive, the sandwiches and cakes were delicious, whilst there was a broad selection of teas. The £20 per head cost was extremely reasonable, as I've paid a lot more at Edinburgh hotels for lesser service.
Everybody in our family thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the hotel, despite the restrictions, have really worked hard at providing guests with a safe, five star experience.

Really comfortable and opulent hotel. Can’t wait to enjoy it when COVID-19 isn’t such a barrier to joy.

The Jigger Inn must be better prepared for outdoor drinking and dining. It was freezing sitting there, fairly tepid heaters made no difference and wind coming straight off the water.

Was a bit disappointed that a hotel of this standard didn’t have wind baffles, high quality patio heating and lovely tartan blankets being issued. Get with the programme guys!

I can imagine how enjoyable a stay here could be. I’ll be back.

We stayed here at the end of a weeks tour of Scotland, from check in to check out service was first class - Callum behind the desk was an excellent representative for the hotel. Our room overlooked the course, very clean as expected and well kitted out, though £80 for the dressing gown is a bit rich. Sadly due to COVID the full benefit of the hotel wasn't enjoyed, drinks in the bar etc but that's life now. The staff at the spa got us in for a swim at short notice and the golf shop has a great selection and the wallet took a hit. Food in the "Road Hole Restaurant" was cooked to perfection and should always be tried when staying here, service outstanding and breakfast just as good. I did point out that the kitchen staff were not always wearing masks correctly ie nose showing, this needs following up and policing, but other than that minor issue the covid procedures was excellent and easy to follow.

Room tip: Room 220 overlooked the course

Overnight stay with family on DBB offer. Lovely rooms and could not fault the service, even when we had a booking issue it was resolved and a complimentary drink was offered as an apology. However we chose this hotel for its facilities and in particular the pool. No clear instructions on pool booking and child swim times were available when making our reservation or at check-in. I suspected due to covid there would be some restrictions so called down as soon as we got into our room only to be told there where no spaces for my 13 yo (under 16 can only swim at limited times until 5pm) and only availability for 2 adults remained with nothing for us all until late afternoon the next day. Fully understand the need to book but found lack of information disappointing and not very family friendly policies. Only positive is that my teenager was relieved she missed ‘Spashtime’ as it sounded more suitable for younger kids. Don’t think we would return.
