“central location - but not good for everyone”
Reviewed 2 September 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The apartment is centrally located near the busstop but not in the best area of Leith. The noise of the main street can be heard in the second bedroom even with closed windows. The masterbedroom has a small bed (160cm) with only one big mattress. The apartment lies on the ground floor next to the front door which can only be closed with noise. You can hear it in the bedrooms. The hallway was dirty and smelling. There´s no window in the kitchen, only a neon light. The furniture is a bit worn. The living room is nicely decorated and has a good TV. The private parking is a plus. Supermarkets and restaurants are nearby.
A hint we would have needed in advance: If you want to use the shower turn on the water in the sink first.

A number 35 bus to and from the airport, stopped just around the corner from this apartment, so very convenient for the traveler arriving from overseas. The apartment had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We were there for 3 weeks and we appreciated the added benefit of free outgoing and incoming local telephone calls, plus free long distance calls to Australia.
The only downside was the area, which was very convenient to the city, but sadly was in what can only be described, as a very dirty part of the city, If this can be overlooked, then the apartment is excellent, but we would not care to be visited by friends or family in this part of Edinburgh.

“Very home from home”
Reviewed 25 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

The flat was very homely and well equipped.

Whilst close to the main road noise wasn't an issue.

Convenient for local amenities including supermarkets and places to eat. Also within minutes walk of Edinburghs excellent bus network - we didn't use the car at all during our stay. A day ticket on the bus is just £4 with family tickets available so its a no brainer. The Royal yacht Britania and Leith waterfront are within walking distance (or the bus). Leith itself is very handy for other places i.e. Fife, St Andrews etc but as we had never been to Edinburgh before we mainly went there.

“Great practical base for the beautiful city”

This apartment was home for 4 nights with x2 children aged 8 and 10 and husband and myself. For the same price of the rental we could have stayed at Premier Inn, but I wanted somewhere cosy and homely and importantly more living space for the family. THIS apartment met all of these things. 10- 15 minutes I into Princes Street, near supermarkets and we had everything we needed around us.
The thick walls of the building mean that you can not hear the traffic going past Great Junction Road at all.
We were out from morning to night each day, but it was nice to return to a homely place in the evening.
Joe has been professional and in regular contact leading up to our trip. Joe met us at the building and showed us around and even got us in some milk, (which shows it really is the little things after a taxi-plane-bus and walk from Kent ). Nice touches in the apartment, toiletries and traditional Scottish snacks- which we quickly ate...
We went everywhere by Bus and this proved very easy from the apartment and downloaded the Bus App- but Joe had left plenty of information in the flat for you to look at.
We went to Leith, Britannia, Edinburgh Zoo , Castle , Princes Street and out to the outskirts to see some relatives... all by bus and dropped off a teeny walk from Apartment.
