“Cute Flat in a Great Location”
Reviewed 25 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed in Debbie's flat for 2 nights, me, my wife, and our adult daughter. The flat is really cute, well-furnished, very clean, and comfortable. It certainly had everything we would have needed for a much longer stay. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bed is quite comfortable, and the Wi'Fi was fast and reliable.

For us, the flat was in a perfect location for exploring the Royal Mile and Old Edinburgh. It is at the base of the Royal Mile, located directly across from the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and very close to the hike up to Arthur's Seat. Just a short walk to a grocery to pick up some breakfast items and adult beverages. Being right at the base of the Royal Mile, it made a nice day exploring the Mile up one side, to and including Edinburgh Castle, then down the other side of the street, ending back at our flat --- tired, burdened down with treasures, and very satisfied.

Thank you, Debbie, for having us in your comfortable apartment. We will certainly try to book it again on our next, longer, trip.

“Well situated for Royal Mile”
Reviewed 25 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed in this apartment for 3 nights on our way home from Scottish Highlands. A reason for choosing it was the parking space which was very useful (though we didn't use car while there). The apartment has everything that you might need on a holiday, though we were a bit puzzled by the numerous bottles/jars of remnants of sauces/mayonaisse etc in the back of the fridge and the bread in the freezer compartment. It really felt a bit like we were using someone else's fridge as we put our cool box contents into it, and we wouldn't use any of the stuff there as without knowing the history of something like mayonaisse there is no way of knowing whether it is safe to eat. The norm for holiday homes is an empty fridge with perhaps a pint of fresh semi-skimmed milk! The property is advertised with a small patio but I don't think many would want to sit outside a front door next to a busy road for very long. Value for money apartment though and Edinburgh a great place to visit.

Management Response
30 Sep 2015
I'm pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay at my flat.

In response to your concerns about the contents of the fridge.....this is not a serviced apartment, rather my home which I rent out and as such it will have fridge contents which will always be safe to use. If you didn't want to use them, the choice is yours! I did note you didn't mention about the contents of the food cupboards which I presume you used?

Regarding your comment on the patio being on a busy road....this is simply not the case. My flat is on a quiet street just off the main road and on a sunny evening I often sit out and eat my meal with a bottle of wine.
I am perplexed at your negativity given my other reviews on here and on Airbnb are nothing short of excellent and that you left a comment in my visitors book saying you would recommend the flat to your friends.

It is my goal to give my guests an unrivalled experience whilst balancing value for money and I am disappoinited at your observations.

“Location hard to beat”
Reviewed 4 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We spent four nights in the apartment and were very happy with our experience. It is across the road from Holyrood Palace at the bottom of the Royal Mile and a 15-minute walk from Waverley Station. Very central.
The apartment itself is well appointed with nothing lacking. Deborah, our thoughtful host, even provided a bag of 'welcome' groceries including milk, bread, eggs and breakfast cereals. Would very happily stay again if lucky enough to return to Edinburgh.

Right around corner from Royal Mile but at quiet end!! Beautiful furnishings, clean and provided extras like shampoo, coffee, tea and milk plus some other items. Home away from home!! Why ever stay at a hotel!!!

The apartment was fab, it was well equipped, comfortable and so home for home we didn't want to go home! It was the perfect base for exploring the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Thank you Deborah for letting us stay in your lovely apartment and for your hospitality.
