Gorgeous views, good coffee and great cake...what’s not to love? There’s a nice wee play area for kids too.

We’ll definitely be back!

We go here a lot! The food is homely, filling and delicious; it isn’t cheap, however. I call the cafe twenty quid. Lunch for 2 with coffee will be around £20.

That said, you get what you pay for and I keep going back for more.

The homemade soups are amazing!

On our wee trip to Blair Atholl & Perth we drove towards Edinburgh on the A698. This road is great from Newcastle if you want the best of both the Northumberland country side and The Borders. Though be prepared for the odd truck and tractor.
Soutra coffee was well sign posted and we made the right hand turn to the establishment.
Really friendly staff. Breakfast made to order and deliciously hot and satisfying.
If your hungry go for the haggis and bacon roll. Yummy.
Coffee really nice.
Clean, well presented eating area with seats outside for hose with dogs.
Lovely views too.
Leaving the coffee house - beware the road. Soutra is on a "bend" in the road. I would go left and then turn an immediate right, thus preventing a long wait for a safe gap in the traffic: to resume our trip to Edinburgh and beyond.

Thank Elizabeth M
