“Unique place to stay”
Reviewed 12 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Stayed for a 2 night break at the castle snug. I cannot recommend it enough. It is a unique place to stay, with bags of character, right on the royal mile.

What's not to like about the Snug - super cute and slap bang in the centre, right on the Royal Mile and 2mins walk to the castle and if that's not enough, despite being in the hub of it all, you still get a peaceful night's sleep!

The host Brian is very helpful and quick at responding to emails and gave us great directions to the Snug from the train station, no need for cabs. The snug is tucked away in an alley just off the Royal Mile, near a pub and a café, perfectly located.

Despite its location, once you close the front door, it is pretty quiet and we really enjoyed the comforts of this very cute place. We slept on both beds, to test comfort &my husband thought the upstairs one was more comfortable than the one coming out of the book case, but I thought otherwise. It was good to have a choice.

We will most certainly come back to the Snug if we are in Edinburgh again, there is no place we would rather be!

“A QUIRKY, UNIQUE APARTMENT IN A PRIME LOCATION”

Being a fan of Boswell and Johnson, this apartment just could not be overlooked.A brilliant location just off the Royal Mile ,surprisingly quiet and perfect for a short break away in this beautiful city . It has been sympathetically decorated ,which makes it a quirky and unique place to stay. Didnt want to leave and will certainly be back again .

“unique, fun, great location”

This apartment is located right in the heart of Edinburgh. We chose it because of its uniqueness and and setting. The apartment was spotless and had everything we could possibly need even down to a carton of milk in the fridge - very much appreciated. We all commented how lovely the beds smelt when we got in - very important for us girlies!! Very easy to find and definitely quirky - a taste of old edinburgh at amazing value.

“cant fault it”
Reviewed 18 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Brilliant! Due to a wee mix up we arrived a couple of hours early, and upon a rather potentially embarrassing situation when the owner arrived to check after previous guest, we were met by a lovely lady who didnt make us feel awkward at all, was very gracious and welcoming. Like to thank her for that as it could have made our wee trip feel awkward and she handled it fantastically.

The apartment itself fully contains the WOW factor upon first impression and i can see it accomodating any types of group at all. Its perfectly situated for everything you need in edinburgh. Im currently 7 months pregnant and not particularly mobile and i was able to walk to and from the bus station in Edinburgh without any hindrence with my luggage and teenage son. Outside the apartment itself is the bus stop for one of the many tours available to you as a tourist, across the road you have one of the best resteraunts in scotland "the witchery" as well as some thing to suit every budget. Your 5 minutes from princes street where my son was only too happy to release my cash from my bank account on 3 consecutive days! The apartment has everything including washer dryer and dishwasher fully easy to use and everything necessary you would ever need to make your stay an easy one. I honestly cant say enough about this beautiful little place. If i had to make a suggestion to the owners i would have liked to find a welcome pack of some sort with instructions on how to get to the closest supermarket etc in case people wish to be more self catering, and maybe a guest book just so that people have the ability to leave comments on how lovely it is, also we were aware you have wifi access but didnt manage to connect so some instruction would have been handy.. other than that i cant fault it, wed love to come back and will certainly highly recommend on your behalf.

thanks again for allowing us to enjoy the benefits of your little piece of history.
