This is a don't-miss in Edinburgh. It covers everything from Scottish design to a Scottish astronaut to aeronautics - with a glider and 4 or 5 small planes hanging from the ceiling. Several floors of Scottish history, very absorbing. Good for kids with several interactive exhibits. I clicked 2-3 hours, but you could do all day here.

It is an outstanding museum and very informative. I visited not knowing much about Scottish history, and the wing on that was stunning and took over an hour to see properly. The rest of the museum looked just as interesting, but we ran out of time to see everything.

There is something for every age and interest in this well presented museum. Don't miss the roof terrace with great views of the city and interesting plantings showing the diverse range of plants in different habitats. An excellent shop with a good choice of books, cards and gift items across the price range. The building itself is worth a visit both outside and in - to stand in the main entrance and look up, you will be amazed. Good coffee shop and a restaurant.

A great way to spend a day. Everything from Whales to Planes. Suggest you don’t get there as it opens as there can be a few school groups all wanting to get in at the same time.

This attraction can o my be described as amazing. Really enjoyed it. Great exhibition and well worth a visit. The cafe itself I taught was very reasonable. Considering the prices in other attractions. Both myself and my daughter spent 4 hours there and we could if spent another few but we had to catch a flight.
Loved the wee coffins but were heard to find.. would of loved if the gift shop had replica ones for sale. Considering they are in the leaflet I would definitely of bought them..

Will be back
