While the gardens were beautiful during our rainy day, despite some looking a bit weary, I can imagine how beautiful they are on a sunny day. The Glass Houses were incredible and those lily pads - like nothing I've seen. This is worth a visit and be sure to plan time - especially on a beautiful day. There are lots of paths to walk and benches to sit on.

Edinburgh has one of the finest botanic gardens in the world and is worth a visit at any time of year. If you are lucky and visit at a weekend you might witness a wedding among the giant redwoods! Good self-service cafe in the centre, small coffee shop near the Inverleith Row entrance, and table-service restaurant at the Arboretum Place entrance.

Free to walk around the grounds. Lots of rare trees, plants and flowers to see. Huge area to walk, but there are plenty benches to sit on for a rest. Well worth a visit.

With Princess street at the back and castle up top everything is in easy reach...the station is on the doorstep so getting around is a breeze. Lovely gardens to relax after some heavy shopping

If you are tired of the hustle/bustle of the center city, this is a great place to visit. The Gardens are huge and wonderfully cared for. You must see the small building associated with the Queen Mother. Go inside an get suprised.
