Yes it’s expensive, but if you can afford it, it changes your mind on how to travel instead of doing tours with large coaches. This isn’t a tour, it’s more of a chauffeur who knows history and the heart of the land. Mathew not only took care of us, but made it very special. My family loved every moment, every minute. You travel in a Range Rover across Scotland, and how cool is that. Lovely.

Thanks to Martine and the lovely people at Discreet Scotland, we have fallen head over heels in love with Scotland. I can’t say enough good things about them, but I’ll suffice it to say that booking with them, and getting Martine as our fearless and incredibly knowledgeable guide was easily the best decision we could have made!

We could not be happier with our time with Discreet Scotland Tours. Setting up the tour was easy. Margaret and Mathew were so patient to help us in planning every step. We chose the 4 day Highlands and Isle of Skye tour.
Martine our guide was professional, knowledgeable, funny and kept us on schedule ( not an easy thing to do with our crew of 6) We got to see everything we came to Scotland to see.
She promised us that by the end we would see Scotland was the coolest country in the world and she was right!!
Our first day we saw Stirling Castle and Doune Castle where we learned tons of history and stories of battles. Then we drove thru the Gorgeous Green GlenCoe Mountains where we saw an extinct volcano and beautiful waterfalls. We also got to meet some Highland Cows. We stopped in Fort William where we stayed the night at the Inverlochy Castle, one of the list of hotels Discreet Scotland suggested. It was Fabulous!!!
Martine picked us up right on time the next morning and we were off on another day of wonderful adventures thru Glenfinnan and the 5 sisters. We visited the Wallace monument and Gorgeous beaches in Mallaig and then took the Ferry over to the Awesome Isle of Skye where we visited the Beautiful grounds of the Armadale Castle. We stayed the next two nights in Portree at the Cuillian Hills Hotel, also on the suggested list, where the view was Breathtaking!!
I could write so much more but you get the idea. Everything about our trip was top notch and we parted with Martine feeling like we had made a life long friend.
If you are looking for a tour of Scotland definitely go with Discreet Scotland tours!

We took a day tour with Jim, who was a fantastic guide. He made Scotland's history relatable and catered to our interests in a way that exceeded our best expectations. We only wish we had more time to spend! We will be back and we will make it a point to use Discreet Scotland when we do.

Our first trip to Scotland and, after reading their great reviews in TripAdvisor, we decided to book several day tours with Discreet Scotland Tours. We could not have made a better decision. They are true professionals who really know what they are doing.

Our guide for all 4 days was Matthew. From the start his knowledge and love of Scotland was obvious - enough so that it wore off onto us almost immediately. We saw so much, learned so much, and even laughed so much that every day was a totally enjoyable experience. Matthew went out of his way to ensure this even including adjusting the tour when needed (each time with our permission) to better fit the circumstances and our interests. At each stop along the way, whether historical locations, beautiful viewpoints, or even lunch locations, he made a point of taking us inside to ensure we would be well taken care of before leaving us to spend as much time as we felt we needed. In addition, in places where there were no guides, such as various battlefields, church ruins, Roman ruins, or even Outlander film locations (we’re fans!), he made a point of explaining their stories, their history and their importance to Scotland. In particular, his in-depth explanations of the battles such as Robert the Bruce at Bannockburn proved fascinating.

Thank you Matthew for a wonderful trip and we can’t wait to return to Scotland and another longer tour with Discreet Scotland to see more of your beautiful country.
