“Convenient and comfortable”

We had a family holiday party staying at Rattray Cottage - five of us in total - and the configuration of the cottage suited us down to the ground. It's really close to Kirkcudbright centre, so convenient for a quick nip down to the Co-op or popping down the pub for a drink. The shower room downstairs and bathroom upstairs made it efficient for the number of people staying, and we were comfortable in the sitting room to watch the tv, whilst the extra space in the sun room accommodated all our walking boots. We were also able to sit outside in the sunshine in the garden (small, but really pleasant). These little details make all the difference to a holiday. Can't recommend Kirkcudbright itself more highly. Thank you very much

“A cosy, comfortable cottage for a quiet, relaxing week's stay in Kirkcudbright.”
Reviewed 21 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Rattra Cottage is ideally located in a quiet spot very close to the town centre. There are plenty of lovely individual shops to browse through as well as cafes and restaurants. Excellent food at Polarbites, Selkirk Arms Hotel, the Auld Alliance and Mulberries Café. Threave Gardens nearby is a must. Very close to some excellent beaches as well. Our fourth visit to Kirkcudbright and second to Rattra Cottage. We hope to return again soon!

“Vibrant town, lovely cottage”
Reviewed 13 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Cottage in centre of town, quiet spot. Clean, warm, tidy with everything you could wish for to make your (family) holiday a success. Off road parking accessed through narrow entry. Nice little courtyard/garden with table, chairs and BBQ. Lots to do in Kirkcudbright and wonderful countryside to explore in the area.

“Perfect Holiday home”
Reviewed 7 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

This was our second year visiting Kirkcudbright for New Year's Eve. The town is so nice and friendly, everyone seems to want to say hello. It is a perfect place for dogs with plenty of woods and beaches close by (beaches are a bit small at high tide). I would recommend this town to anyone wishing to visit Scotland. On New Year's Eve everyone meets at the clock tower and one of the locals pipes in the New Year

Thank you for your review and your recommendation that potential holidays makers should visit Kirkcudbright. It does tend to be overlooked in favour of the Highlands which is a pity as the area has loads to offer and the people are extremely friendly.
