Loved this place! The cottage was lovely - really clean and well presented. The kitchen was well equipped with a few bits and pieces like milk and bread provided, which was a great touch, along with plenty of cleaning products, so there was no need to bring as much as we did!
The bedrooms both had tv's and plenty of storage. Again well presented with really warm duvets (although it was quite warm when we visited I imagine they would keep you toasty warm in the winter).
The travel cot was great, within a mattress and well fitting sheets provided so all we needed was a sleeping bag for our 3 month old.
Then there is the stunning setting. The views were amazing with plenty of farm animals, rabbits and birds that we spent a lot of time watching. Our 3 year old loved the garden and spent most of her time out there - on the climbing frame, rolling down the hill and running around with a ball. We even managed a picnic out there on the last evening.
On recommendation from the notes in the cottage, we visited Kippford on one of the days which was a beautiful place. We also did Mabie Farm Park and Dino Park which were great too. It is definitely an area we would like to come back to.
Audrey gave us a very warm welcome and we hope we will be able to come and stay again some time!
The bit on the side is an absolutely amazing quirky little place. It's only a 10 minute drive from Dumfries.
It's furnished out lovely with a good sized 3 seater settee and a 2 seater recliner sofa. There's a tv in each of the bedrooms as well as a good sized tv in the lounge. The beds are really comfortable with everything that you require all the bedding and towels.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything that you require for a long or a short stay. There is also bread, milk biscuits jam and soread and other breakfast essentials as well as eggs.
The owner of the bit on the side Audrey was easy enough to get hold of and she quickly replied promptly. I noticed that on TripAdvisor it said that there was a freezer in the cottage, Audrey got in touch with us via a friend who told us that the freezer is in the chalet further down in the garden.
Top marks we will definitely be back again when we are back up again visiting family.
We stayed here for two nights as a base to go to a family wedding. The rental was easy to find and was very clean and tidy and well equipped with everything that you would need, the garden and play area are also very neat and tidy
